I'm from Alabama, and this was, by far, the best BBQ I've ever eaten! Also, it was the best fried okra I've ever had, too! I ordered the Pork n Greens plate. It was a combo of my favorite things- pimento cheese grits, collard greens, BBQ and topped with onion rings. It was so delicious and of course, super filling!... More

My son and I recently visited Saw's Soul Kitchen for some BBQ chicken and sweet potato fries. It was great! The chicken had a white sauce. Everything was delicious.

Small place but great food and friendly folks. Everything was top notch - Pork, chicken, wings, turnip greens and cheese grits. White sauce was different but good. And banana pudding, was great too. Worth a stop and a wait if there is a line.

I had to travel through Birmingham on my way to Atlanta, so I decided to give this place a try. Well, it was worth it. The building was small, and it was crowded, which was a sign of good things to come. I didn't know what to order, but the cashier recommended the BBQ pork platter (they ran out of... More

My friend & I were travelling from Nashville to New Orleans & wanted to stop somewhere local along the way for BBQ. We found Saw's on Trip Advisor for high reviews so we stopped, AND SO GLAD WE DID. When we pulled up we almost left because it looks extremely run down on the outside. I've had a lot of... More

Simply the best BBQ I've had. Nationally ranks by BBQ connoisseurs.....Saws is best experienced at their original juke joint...not fatty, but just juicy meat, slow cooked to perfection.

Was in Birmingham and looking for a good place to get lunch. I had seen that Saw's was highly rated so we gave it a try. I ordered the Grits and green, my wife ordered a chicken sandwich. Oh my goodness! This was exactly what we were looking for. Flavor, Flavor, Flavor!!! Both items were fantastic. The building is tiny... More

Based on the glowing reviews I read, my wife and I decided to check this out. We weren't disappointed. I got the combo plate (pulled pork, BBQ chicken and 3 wings with a side). My wife got the smoked sausage plate with 2 sides. The meats were flavorful, the cheese grits were as good as advertised, and my wife said... More

We were looking for a good representation of lacal food as we passed through Birmingham and our research lead us here. It was a little difficult to find parking, and the line was out the door, but somehow we sped through the line and were seated with our food in notime. We tried the local delicacy Pork N Greens (cheese... More
