The food here was passable but very forgeteble. The experience was not forgetable because the host gave us the impression we were second class citizens and and attending to us as customers was beneath him. The host and kitchen staff had degrees of long braided black hair and hair nets were nowhere visable. I like to try different and unique... More

Love this place and it never disappoints. Great food and service can't wait to come back again. Only problem is picking the dish lol

Among some of the best items are the chicken wings, pork and greens and sweet tea chicken sandwich. Be prepared to have alternate choices as sometimes ingredients run out.

Saw's is an eclectic stop but well worth the trip! Choices of pulled pork, chicken, ribs, lots of sides and even shrimp and grits. So good that now there are three locations providing the same great BBQ: Saw's Soul Kitchen in Avondale, Saw's BBQ in Homewood, and Saw's Juke Joint in Crestline. Great family place.

I had the smoked chicken plate with a side of cheese grits. Everything tasted great. The banana pudding is sooooo tasty! Like the other reviews said, it's a very small place with a steady flow of people coming in and out, even at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Saw's soul kitchen had been well reviewed so we decided to try it on our visit to Birmingham. The restaurant although eclectic is quite run down. There are other very nice restaurants in the vicinity. The food was fine, although in my opinion a little pricey for what you get. The food was served on styrofoam plates with plastic knives... The place is tiny but is by far the best food we had while in town. Everything was delicious. My mom had just the veggie plate, my dad had the sausage plate with fried green tomatoes and I had the pulled pork with fried pickles. Be prepared for cramped spaces and a line out the door but they move and... More

If you're looking for a gourmet dining experience, this isn't the place. But if you're looking for AMAZING BBQ, go to Saw's Soul Kitchen. We love BBQ and have eaten at a number of really good BBQ places across the country. For us, Saw's is #1. That delicious smoked flavor is really cooked into the meat. We love the Pulled... More

Great Food. Small and quaint venue. Outside seating when weather permits is best option. Because of it's location, there are options for drinks within walking distance and the Brewery next door often has music events. Off street parking behind or limited on street parking available.
