We only discovered this tiny and colourful cafè on our last day in San Pedro looking for a quick bite before our airport pick-up and regretted not to have found it earlier. Huge and truly delicious empanadas, very friendly husband and wife team, ridiculously low...More

We should have stuck to our order of 1 empanada as we didn’t expect it to be so big! Chicken meat in the empanada was abit dry, but with the spicy sauce they gave, it was pretty good. We also had the Tomato and Mushroom...More

a small little cafe right at the end of the main street. Quite a small menu but what they do is very good. empenadas are excellent - one is enough. They also do take-away - popular with the hostellers. Staff friendly and helpful. Looks like...More

My wife and I are vegetarians, and it wasn't easy finding a tasty, filling and cheap(ish) vegetarian menu in San Pedro. Café Esquina's vegetarian empanadas are delicious and definitely filling, most people would share one. We loved them so much that we ended up having...More

We tried all the various types offered by esquina and can honestly say that of all the vegetarian is the tastiest followed by the chicken, don't bother with the meat one unless you really like onions as it consists of about 90% onion. Even so,...More

These empanadas were so good we had them three times. As a take-away or a sit down meal the tourist can't go wrong. The Waitress was very patient with non spanish speakers. That cafe made that corner the start of the Main Street drag.

Very tasty and large empanadas to be had here with a good veggie choice. They came quickly and prices were reasonable. There is a beautiful big dog who waits patiently outside for scraps (please give him some) we nicknamed him 'Bear' & returned several times...More

Stopped in for lunch one day and ordered a smoothie and chicken empanada. That was the biggest empanada I've ever seen! But it was so good. And the smoothie lasted about 3 minutes. My final bill was 5,800CP. The place is clean, the food is...More

Stopped in for a quick bite on NYE. Their empanadas are the biggest and most flavorful we have ever had. Made fresh throughout the day. We had to wait about 15 min for the beef empanadas, but it was worth it!

If you want something different from a traditional empanada, this is it, I have never had such big empanadas and such an choice of fillings. These are more than a snack and taste very good as well.
