Very nice owner, good cooking class. Enjoyed the traditional food and explanation a lot. To sit in the restaurant is very touristly and the food is less nice then in the class.

My friend and i wanted to experience a khmer cooking course. The smoking pot owner is a real surprise! He let us chosen the khmer dishes we want to make and then we have been to his village market to buy the ingredients. You will learn how to prepare everything: from the curry paste to the coconut milk. The owner... More

Having taken this cooking class, we were given a clear understanding of what it means to be a chef in Battambang/Cambodia. From being told which are the essential ingredients on a foodmarket, to a motorride towards the chef's very own home, and an one-to-one explanation of the preparations. With a strong sense of hygiene, taste and cutting methods, he showed... More

I have done a lot of cooking classes in Asia, but this was by far the most authentic and personal. Vannak is a great teacher and the dishes are delicious! First we went to the local market and after we went to his garden at the countryside for the cookingclass. I would really recommend this cooking class!

The two of us were happily surprised by this small restaurant's cooking experience while in Battambang. The owner, Vanak, not only picked us up from our hotel via moto, but also took us to his village market, and into his home. We got to experience how local Khmer people buy, prepare and cook food authentically, with ingredients fresh from the... More

Was here 7 years ago and took the cooking class today again. Pleased to see and taste the quality of the cooking class and the food were unchanged high. Natural flavours, everything from scratch, makes you realise how long some dishes take to prepare for its excellent taste. Nice improvement now the cooking class is outside of town with local... Happened upon here by chance, and not disappointed. Whilst I would say the portions are a bit small for what you pay, the flavour of the food easily makes up for this. Really good. The staff were also really friendly and on the ball.

Lovely authentic Khmer food, so tasty. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. The couple who owns this lovely restaurant are nice and helpful. Beef lab is recommended! 😊

Down the road on Battambangs main food street, just by the river, you'll find one of two Khmer owned restaurants in the city. At Smokin Pot you can enjoy authentic and tasty Khmer food. Which is why you visit Cambodia, right? All other restaurants are Western owned, like The White Rose and Khmer Delight., and there the food is many... More
