The view is a must. The food is average so dont expect it to be 5* and was expensive. If that dont matter, the the atmosphere, music, romantic surrounding was fantastic.

Very elegant place, rightly famous for its views from the 42nd floor. We had a variety of snacks, which were ok, but mostly a bit strange and not very good. There were about 12 of us from all over the world, but many of the snacks were left untouched. Drinks very good, both the local Brazilian drinks and their wines.... More

This restaurant is only good for the views. The food is quite mediocre if you take into consideration the prices. We spent 200 EUR which is comparable to the price of some Mecheline restaurants, but it was nothing special.

The restaurant has 4 ambients and all of them have beautiful views. Located at the 47th floor of an old building downtown, this restaurant is a must go. You can go at the balcony outside the rooms for beautiful photos. The food is impeccable, good service, a piano being played in the room, very nice environment. I went with my... More

This is definitely worth going to for the views of Sao Paulo. From Av Paulista/Rua Pamplona, it was about 15 minutes by taxi on Saturday evening. We got there just after dusk. Enter the main building and security will direct you (there are also some signs). The first elevator takes you to floor 37 and has an attendant. Then you... More

Terraço Italia has the best view in town. The piano bar is great and always has always jazz bands playing there. Been there many times.

What I appreciate the most there is the view from São Paulo at night! Last time I've been to the bar a helicopter was flying so close to the window that I got a little bit worried! Oh, yes, I rather the bar then the restaurant!

Great view of São Paulo skyline, plus an amazing service and piano playing in the background. We had a candlelight dinner in the Salão São Paulo and the food was awesome, perfectly matching strong flavors with softer tastes. Afterwards we enjoyed a blues band from the US at the piano bar (A MUST GO, TOTALLY AWESOME).

I went for lunchtime. very good view of the city at the 41st floor. Service was good and fast. Food was fine. At lunch you can get a prix fix menu that allows a fair trade.

Staying in Republica

Neighborhood Profile
Part of the historical center of São Paulo, República was once a fancy residential area. República Square holds a craft and food fair every weekend, right by the subway entrance. Nearby, one of the neighborhood’s main attractions is the Italian Building, where you can see the city from the 42nd floor. The Copan Building also deserves a close look, with 1,160 apartments and a huge floor area that inspired filmmakers and other artists. To get the feeling of São Paulo in the beginning of the 1900s, visit the Municipal Theatre – you will be amazed by its architecture. The area also features several galleries. República is a great area to explore during daytime, but use caution if visiting alone at night.
