Café do Mercado os The best coffee. You should try! You might find this coffee (the brand) for sale in other restaurants!

We sat to drink a coffe that came very strong, although I had asked for a light one. When I asked for a cup of water, they said I can't afford one because they didn't have and they couldn't give me one and that I had to know the kind of the coffe I asked for.

What a place!!! I spent two weeks in POA and boy this place was the best coffee in long run. I usually do not drink espresso but I did give a go and I tell you ... This was the smoothest espresso in my life. No milk, no sugar and NO PROBLEM !!!! Just go and enjoy it. It is... More

It is a great option when you go visit the Mercado Municipal. Café do Mercado has a large options of sweets and snacks. Very good service and a pleasant atmosphere. Worth a visit!

Best fricking coffee so far in Brazil, and how pleasant people are in the south, only adds to that. You only have to walk by and you know you gotta stop and have one.

This coffee shop sells only coffee. The locals queue up only for the coffee. They could sell all sorts of other stuff (muffins, sandwiches etc.) But they don't. They concentrate only on giving you outstanding coffee. They do all the important stuff like ensuring the cups are warmed too. I had the best coffee here in 6 months travelling around... More

We had an excellent trip to the central market and it was a delight surprise to find this little cafe in the market after yet another full steak meal. Great coffee and they also have nice package coffee beans and chocolate, so we got to finish the gift shopping too. Don't miss it if you are already in the market.

It all depends on expectations. After reading these great reviews, I skipped breakfast at my hotel to come try it out. Yes, the coffee is good. And that is it. The atmosphere is not that special (except that it is located in the beautiful Mercado Publico) and there is no food to speak of to go with your coffee. The... More

Tasteful and excellent quality coffee inside Mercado Publico. Not very cheap, but a good experience at all.

Inside the Mercado Publico, a tourist attraction by itself, because there you can see, smell and taste this southern city, you'll also find the Cafe do Mercado. In two small stores, one upfront the other, you'll taste one of the best espressos in town. Wifi is available for free and other coffee drinks too. Visiting downtown Porto Alegre, just a... More
