The food is very good mostly French cuisine. The chef and the waiters are friendly, professional and competent. The atmosphere is allright, except that the tables seem to be too near one another and one can hear what is being discussed at the next table. As Brazilians are noisy and spontaneous by nature one feels rather unconfortable at times. The... More

Chef Gerard Durand is able to bring authentic French cuisine to Porto Alegre without losing Brazilian hospitality. The food is impeccable, with a good wine selection and a good variety of dishes without being overpowering. Personally, I recommend the Fillet Mignon au Brie Gratiné: the red wine sauce that accompanies the dish is a definite highlight. Also, if you're a... More

At Le Bateaux Ivre you will find a great service with excellent french cuisine. A rack of lamb (Carré de cordeiro) is a great idea..

We have always been pleased to return, whether to order a la carte or, especially, for the menu dégustacion -- last week, for our anniversay, we had oysters, escargots, fromage de chèvre (exceptional!), and six more tastings. Wine list outstanding. The cherry on top: the cozy ambiance, the staff, and, especially, Chef Gerard.

The food was amazing. My boyfriend had the fillet mignon with Brie cheese and I had the confit de canard (the one in the picture) and both were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Service was excellent and the restaurant itself had a nice feeling inside. Price is right for what you get.

It is the best french restaurante in town. The chef is french and the cuisine is provençal. The menu is a little short and the "terrine ode campagne" is the best entrée.

This restaurant has earned its first place rating on Tripadvisor. I went with a group of 4 with each of us having a different dish. From the appetisers the foie gras was seared to perfection. I had the oysters cooked in butter and saffron, again excellent. Everyone in our party ordered something different and each raved about their dish which... More
