Good variety of arab food. Excellent shawarma, kibbe and makanek. The shawarma sandwich on arab bread is the best I've eaten. There are both cheaper dishes (that are still very satisfying) and more expensive ones, so it accounts for different budgets. They offer a buffet for lunch. For about R$ 50. Worth every penny.

This place has great arab food (falafel, kibe, esfiha, pita bread, shawarma), great menu selection, good ambiance, good location (right in the heart of copacabana, one block away from the beach!), good service... if you like arab food, you will LOVE IT. If you don`t, then probably you won`t. It is not cheap, but it is definitely worth the pricing.

The buffet has a good variety of Arab dishes: grape rolls, lamb, rice and lentils, homus, kibbeh, falafel. The shawarma and the kafta are specially good. The service is good and the location is very convenient if you are in Copacabana.

Great place to eat authentic arab dishes, right in front of Copacabana beach, near Copacabana Palace Hotel. Frequented by locals and tourists alike, it's definitely a good choice for lunch or dinner at Copacabana.

I had lunch at Amir during the weekend. Good atmosphere, very good food. Chopp is OK. They also had options a la carte and portions are big. I really liked the buffet variety and quality, will definitely come here again. Good option if you are in a group, they have big round tables, very nice for friends hanging out.

In our first night in Rio we decided to have a taste from East. We were glad to find this Resturant that served many Arabic dishes. The service was ok, not over the top but we enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The price was not bad also.

Food average ,excellent service ,area and location ok.our expectation was higher from what we read about it . With the middle eastern population in Rio,there has to be more and better place to enjoy the Syrian-Lebanes food. Over all you get what you pay for.No one speaks other language ? May be its universal in RIO ???

Nothing to commend this place but likewise not a dive. If I had my time again I wouldn't go here for dinner. It doesn't give you value for money or satisfaction through quality of food which warrants the extra spend.

Very good Middle Eastern cuisine about a block in from Copacabana Beach. Charming decor, the wait staff was friendly and attentive, and the taboule and shawarma were excellent - giant portions. Also had a lamb dish that was cooked perfectly. Tried the Arab Restaurant as well, which is right on Av. Copacabana, but preferred the food and staff at Amir.... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
