We were wandering looking for a restaurant. This place seemed popular, but we waited only 5 mins for a table. Service was quick and food was amazing! Have the banana carpaccio for pudding!

Located on a corner only a block from the beach, this brightly colored, intimate bistro was a great find for lunch during our recent visit to Rio for the Olympics. With a menu in English with multiple gluten free designations and kind English speaking servers, the dining experience was a relaxing pleasure. An appetizer of wasabi mousse with a variety... More

Visited for dinner, very busy and had a great atmosphere. The menu and drinks list were great, quite small but everything looked great, just what you want. Service was excellent and the food was top notch. Overall I would recommend highly for a night out in Ipanema!

Every time we are in rio we make sure to eat at this place. The food, service and atmosphere are all impeccable. I've never had anything on the menu that wasn't outstanding and unique. It is a bit pricey but so worth it

My wife and I loved this place! Best short ribs ever. The atmosphere and and the vibe of this place is very fun. So nicely decorated. We sat outside on a nice night which made the experience nicer. Anytime I go back to Rio, Zaza is a must visit. I highly recommend.

Whenever I go to Rio, one of my dinners must mandatorily be at Zazá. I discovered the place in 2012 after coming back from the beach (famished) and had one of the best lunches I can remember. Now, I opt to go for dinner. Their menu is amazing and experiences some changes, but not so much to lose the essence... More

Great cocktails, the food was nice but I found it a bit expensive for what it was. The venue is super charming

Because of the OLYMPIC GAMES the prices were ABUSIVE, I used to pay R$ 79,00 for one specific dish and it was R$ 125,00, exactly the same dish, just because of the games! So don't be foolish, find another place to eat! I'm sure you'll find a better one.

The food here (Morrocan and Asian) was AMAZING. We went all out and had cappuccinos, drinks, lamb croquettes, tapioca, scampi flambé, lamb, banana carpaccio brûlée, and a "for the kids" (brigadeiro). Honestly everything was amazing. The atmosphere is fantastic. We sat on the second floor on a comfortable couch sans shoes. Definitely recommend going here on your visit to Rio!

Staying in Ipanema

Neighborhood Profile
Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.
