We have had lunch and dinner at this restaurant and both were amazing. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Their own beer and homemade ice tea are very nice.

Had the fish of the day plus grilled octopus. The octopus was a bit chewy, not as good as that I had the day before. Very nice presentation, but would rather have better preparation. Good service, not complaints, would try again, but choose different entrees.
This is one of our new favorite places in Rio. Organic healthy and tasty food in a great location. It was packed for a reason!
We visited on a wet weekday lunchtime and it was very busy. The burgers were very good and the waitress spoke good English. Very much recommended, Reasonably priced.
This restaurant was just a couple of blocks from our hotel. The first night we walked by, it was packed with a line up, so we figured we had to try it. Next night (Sunday) not as busy. Staff all spoke English & they had...English menus (not our experience with other restaurants in the area).Ordering a protein main & have the option of 2 sides and a sauce is something we found in several area eating places. This place was the best of them. Grilled chicken was moist and tasty. Salad was fresh & crispy. Small place with inside & outside seating. Very cozy. Reasonably priced.More

Via Sete is a quite well-known restaurant and a very good option for lunch at Rio's busy downtown area. It is only a block away from Avenida Rio Branco and at a walking distance from Rio's subway "Carioca" station. Via Sete is famous among my...friends for its grilled filet mignon steak, accompanied by two side dishes and a special sauce, being up to you to decide which of the many possibilities would better fit your taste. I ordered the filet mignon steak (medium rare), rice with broccoli, caesar salad and honey mustard sauce. For dessert, a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Delicious! Unpretentious wine list with good options. Just a few remarks: the restaurant is on a basement, not very big, maybe be quite noisy and busy. Service is friendly and attentive in general. It opens only for lunch and reservations are possible between Mondays and Thursdays: available until 12:15 PM. For Fridays' lunch, arrrive as early as possible, otherwise you might have to queue for a while. Prices are at Rio's standard, what means a bit expensive. But the food is just superb. Enjoy!More
