Huge selection of seafood. Can be ordered as tapas or main course. Probably suffers from too big a menu though ironically, that is the restaurant's main selling point. Food was very good, expensive by local standards but no complaints from us. Staff were helpful.

Very Carioca atmosphere, but that is just about the only thing worth going for. The food is expensive and mediocre at best. Stick the seafood tapas, the beef filet could have been a rubber tire died brown.

Very low quality food at very high prices. Nice local setting that I believe you can experience elsewhere with better food and lower prices.

Probably very good if you like Spanish tapas, but there are so many marvelous bars in Rio serving Brazilian/Portuguese snacks, I personally would avoid this place if I had a limited amount of time in Rio. They do have an amazing number of different 'petiscos' (snacks) - I counted more than 90 on the menu - and 27 types of... More

Great food, good selection of beer, excellent service, reasonable price. What more do you want? Looks ordinary from the outside. Don't let that deceive you. Once you tried it, you would want to come back again.

Rio de Janeiro is also famous for its "botequins": a kind of simple bar with good and typical food and cold bear. Botequim Carioca is one of thoese places but with a particular point: service is great and all finger foods are really really fresh! Sea food, meet, vegetables, cheese... you name it!

Great tapas. Great atmosphere. Looks unlikely from the outside, but once you're in and eating it's Fab.

Large and nice tapas selection, good beer, cozy atmosphere, it's worth a visit if you want to experience a typical Rio boteco.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
