We just stopped in for a coffee, but were treated to so much more! The location is cozy and the staff is so friendly you feel immediately at home. The walls are decorated with pleasant and representative artworks and pottery, and a very special window...More

We paid 50 Br Reais (approx £10) for the buffet breakfast and couldn’t have been happier! Traditional Brazilian meats, eggs, vegetables plus fresh coffee juice and the most inviting table of cakes you have ever seen. Plus there is a separate menu of hot food...More

Went for breakfast before going to Santa Teresa. The food was ok, quite traditional with lots of cake and tapioca- not the biggest fan of either. Would have liked more eggs and fruit. I went to Mama Shelter for breakfast the next time and thought...More

Surprisingly expensive for what is straightforward Brazilian food ... takes a while to come out, but very yummy.

Looking for simple authentic brazilian dinner, it's a good place, always crowded with decent food and good service.

After one too may average meals, this was a welcome change. I wide variety of local inspired dishes with a twist. Great selection of vegan or veggie dishes. Hearty, home cooked goodness. Reasonable priced. Grand cocktails. Interesting decor. Win.

Little gem of a cafe, opposite the yellow tram stop, loads of choice and the waiters have a firm grip on veggie/vegan/gluten free and menu very clear with this. Best veggie food I’ve had so far in Brazil the croquettes are unreal! Reasonably priced. And...More

We arrived just before closing on a Sunday as website/google/tripadvisor had 3 different closing times but they still let us in and didn’t rush us at all. Nice meal, good to try typical Brazilian food. They also have a great range of beers. One of...More

My sister and I were recommended this cafe by one of the many ateliers we visited in Santa Teresa. I chose the delicious Bobo Vegano dish which was perfectly mild and flavorful, served w/coconut rice. My sister enjoyed a delicious “black-eyed pea” salad. We chose...More

Went here twice during our stay in Rio. Perfect for vegan and glutenfree options!! Delicious curries and the tapioca with pumpkin is THE BEST I had. Coconut dessert is for real sweet tooth. We had a lot, it was no problem to bring it back...More

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local
artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this
neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors
can now stroll through this area to view magnificent
mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th
century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a
former mansion turned museum which houses works by
prominent Brazilian modern artists.
