As the title explains, I think this is my preferred Japanese Food Restaurant with prices kind of high but in the average of Rio (Japanese Food is expensive in Rio unfortunately), very nice options in terms of the menu, and very cozy place. Recommended.

I have been going there a few times already: it's an easy and reasonably priced option for good sushi. You can order à la carte but they also have a "rodizo" which is great if you are hungry and don't want to spend a fortune. Service is nice and fast.

We had Sushi in a couple of places but this place was special. It has a great service, the price is really good, the food really, really good. We had a nice evening. The place keeps a relaxed atmosphere. It's not pretentious but cosy and warm. It feels like eating at Lapamaki is like eating in somewhere familiar, somewhere you... More

I love lapamaki for a long time now, and i can honestly say that their hot philadelfia temaki (I think it's called Maracanã) is one of the bests I've ever had

We read about this restaurant and we were not disappoint at all! Almost like pregnant women, we were wishing for Japanese food, so after a long walk we were even more starving! Perfect timing, since there is a "happy-hour" period from 15-18h when you can economize 15r$ per person in "all-you-can-eat" style! Dessert included, so save some space for the... More

We couldn't translate the menu on our first visit so went for the salmon combination platter. The quality was very good, whilst eating we saw many strange but fantastic looking dishes coming out. We asked the name of each one and our waiter wrote it down for us. Two nights later we returned and enjoyed a brilliant meal of dishes... More

It is not a sophisticated place, but no doubt the best japanese buffet ever. Be prepared to a huge waiting list line which can takes more than 40 minutes to get a table. I always go to Lapamaki in Ipanema with friends and spend around 2 hours enjoying the food and the athmosphere at the roof top where you can... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
