The best caffe in rio de janeiro so far. The waiters were really nice but the service is really slow because the place was full.

You have to pay the Forte entrance fee of 6 real to enjoy the cafe.3 realfor the over 60/s. We had a sandwich, similar to BLT with delicious chips, followed by churros and chocolate. The staff are very friendly,a table by the wall gives a great view of the local surfers, and of course copy cabana beach.

I have been to the Cafe twice in the last two months and will return again. Try to get a table overlooking Copacabana Beach and enjoy a great sandwich, salad, cup of coffee or an ice cream. Their menu has something for everybody. The service is great, even when crowded. The staff were very nice on both of my visits. If... More

This is the second cafe as you walk through the fort. The first cafe were very rude and refused to serve us without a Brazilian phone number, my Brazilian daughter in law was very cross and left without explaining she could provide one. As we continued walking we found cafe 18 de Forte and they were very helpful, moving tables... More

We moved up to eat here on the recommendation of our concierge and because the other cafe along the stretch had a huge queue. The location is incredible under a thick canopy for shade with a lovely breeze. The view is beautiful. Our food was ok. Not incredible but certainly nothing to complain about. Staff were pretty rushed and service... More

The view was excellent from here to the whole Copacabana. Our waiter was very friendly and funny, we got excellent Service from hím. We have chosen the Cariocas coffee, the cappuchino was fine, but the cake was small and simple. We got a baguette as well. We have tried the acai and brazilian nuts ice cream and it was delicious.... Visiting the forte is a must, at the very least just for the view. This cafe had a great view over Copacabana beach. The staff were attentive and the food was excellent. I highly recommend the heart of palm and prawn risotto.

The cafe is ok, and more of a convenience for the location. The fried shrimp is disappointing as it's pieces of shrimp in fried balls. The prices are also high for snacks and beers. 2 beers, 2 snacks and four cokes ran $150R with tip, they calculated.

Visited the cafe after walking around the fort, outdoor table is ideal to enjoy the view over Copacabana. Service friendly but slow no complaints over my coffee or dessert.

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
