¡Venga! is the first Spanish tapas bar in Rio de Janeiro. Opened in 2009, it soon became a reference in the gastronomy of the city. Its concept was developed based on the identification of the Carioca spirit with the culture of the tapas, which are one of the most social ways of eating, always in small portions and sharing several dishes between friends or family. In addition, the possibility of tasting several options at the same time makes the tapas one of the most eclectic gastronomic experiences.

We asked for three dishes, Pincha de Pulpo, Parma rolls and Asparugs with egg yolk and truffle oil. Non of them were good. Óctuplus was old and rubbery - fishy smell - served with a hard bread that even fell from my plate when I...More
My husband and I went here for lunch on a Tuesday and we were not disappointed. Our server Juan? (sp?) was so gracious with our very limited Spanish/Portuguese. He allowed us to use his phone for Google translate and we got back to our hotel...More
Mixed feelings about the place. We truly enjoyed the location, the atmosphere, the service, the music and some of the food (in particular the patatas bravas, the cold cuts and the delicious croqueta de gambas). We were less impressed with the not very clean restrooms,...More
Instead of taking the tour bus back to the hotel, we wandered around the Ipanema district checking out the shops. We opted for a late lunch at Venga, having seen them on the drive in. While not truly a tapas bar, they had enough variety...More
Only visited this place for dessert and we were not disappointed. We ordered the churros which were fantastic if a little light on portion size. Perfectly coated with cinnamon and a delicious chocolate sauce. The place also looked busy which is usually a good sign.
Food was very tasteful. We order dados de bacalao, patatas bravas and croqueta de gambas. Everything was delicious. Very beautiful place! Service was good, waiters were very nice but a little bit distracted. Totally recommend it.
Portions are big and really are deliscious. I can’t remember what we had now but had about 5, pretty confident the majority of the menu would be just as nice as the bits we had. Not very cheap but not ridiculously expensive, just a mid...More
Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There
is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.
