We were in town for the Olympics and looking for a place to eat. We had found another restaurant on Yelp that we were headed too but we didn't like much on the menu. Bar 420 was just a few doors away so we decided to stop, we could not have been more pleased. Aurelio was our server and even... More

Very reasonable prices for lunch, and good quality. I had a steak special with 2 beers for US$10 total. The steak was good, however a little too much fat on the side that could not be eaten. But for the price, it was tender and tasty, good service and good value. I'd return.

We have tasted the Brazilian national cuisine known as "feijoada" accidentally. It's a traditional Brazilian stew made with pork and black beans. The slaves in colonial Brazil created the Feijoada when they started cooking the pork meats that farmland owners discarded, such as ear, tails and feet, in a big pot with the black beans. This comb can be served... More

Stopped in to try some "Empadas" and ended up sharing a Chicken "Empadão". A larger version of an Empada. Something like a Brazilian style chicken pie. This good and traditional Brazilian snack food is sold everywhere. I recommend trying the smaller cupcake snack size Empada with different fillings before committing to a Empadão. Very inexpensive Brazilian snack.

This is a great local restaurant that has all the traditional Rio fare along with a lot of other dishes so you should be able to find something that everyone will like no matter how unadventerous they are. We ate there a few times with my family and enjoyed it and it was an easy walk from our hotel. It's... More

This sidewalk cafe sits a block off Copacabana on a noisy street. You are entertained while you eat. The extensive menu is in English. We ordered a chicken sandwich, French Fries, 2 beers, garlic bread (yum!), tasty potato soup with greens and sausage-all for $20. The staff is friendly and many locals eat here. Check it out!

Good food to the right pricelevel. A bit load as you are sitting outside close to a busy street altough not too disturbing.

Loved it 2 years ago and still do. Very informal outdoors Cafe/Restaurant on noisy Ave Nossa Senhora de Copacabana. Our favorite breakfast and lunch place with the same friendly waiters, good and cheap food, noisy street and busy people passing by.

We luckily stumbled upon this little street cafe one night during World Cup. We were able to get a massive (and tasty) meal for two for less than 35 Realis. Can't beat that! Great service and every seat offers you a view of a very lively street. If people watching is your thing, this is the place to go!

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
