One of my must visits when I am in Rio. Great for listening to live music and dancing every night of the week. Food is decent too. Located in the Lapa area there are other places to walk and bar hop to but I never leave the Scenarium.

Night out during the Olympics. Beautiful entrance. All the flags of every nation were hung across the street. Antiques on every floor. Great meal. Great dancing by locals which we joined. A local band played music for us to dance to.

Partied at the Rio Scenarium courtesy of the recommendation of a local! Fun decent hang out spot especially if you're looking for a working class mature crowd. As a tourist looking for some good Brazilian music to get down to, it did not disappoint!

Not only is the place mesmerizing to look at due to all the precious antiques decorating its walls, the music gets pretty festive and makes you want to samba all night 🎉

This is an interesting place. You get a receipt when you walk in and i guess whenever you order they punch it or what naught. There is also an entrance fee. It was so eclectic we couldn't figure out what it was. There was randomness in the interior like a museum, food areas which were like a restaurant and bar... More

This is a super fun place to be at night - great dancing, drinks, and it B credible decor. You can samba on the main floor or visit the club down the hall for a change of pace. We'd love to go back!

Amazing building with spectacular vintage interior which you could walk around for hours looking at. Has a live disco area and live samba floor - best of both worlds!! So much fun.

Located downtown, in the neighborhood of Lapa, it is an old all refurbished house from 1874, where you can listen to good live Brazilian music and dance. The service is not so good neither the food. I recommend to have some beer, because the caipirinha is also not one my favorites.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
