This restaurant was recommended by the Arena Copacabana Hotel and we got a coupon for one complimentary cocktail/drink. We ordered the special of the day which consisted of prawns, bass and 3 sides. The meal was approx. US$70 for two. Pricey but worth every cent. A very cozy atmosphere with Old World Portuguese vibe.

Found this place because of the location close to my hotel. The portions of huge! Very good sea bass. The staff did not speak much English but I made out just fine.

The food was better t han average Brazilian restaurants. Fish really good , service very nice. Pricey though. Perhaps too pricey. I had moqueca and casquinha de siri. Deliciously made. I would go back

We were wandering, and happened across the restaurant. We've been a little disappointed by the lack of accessible wine in Brasil (i.e. Rare to find a restaurant serving wine) and it looked good. Friendly service suggested the fish stew with roast sea bass and accompanying seafood. Delicious, probably too much food as we are finding servings here go a very... More

One of the staff at the hotel we were staying at in Rio recommended this restaurant on our first night. We got in late in the afternoon, tired and hungry and wanted a good restaurant close by that offered seafood. We arrived at the restaurant around 5:30, a bit early for dinner so we were the only patrons at the... More

Visited on the recommendation of local family. Really busy Sunday lunch but managed to get a table after our Brazilian friends harassed the maitre d' - all a bit of fun. Service was efficient and really friendly; great buzzing atmosphere. We shared two platters which came complete with vegetables and potatoes. Enormous portions, fresh fish cooked to perfection, delicious sauce.... More

This was very homely fish restaurant. As a starters we did have pastel de camarao and carpaccio de carne which both were very good. Main course we had file de linguado ao molho de camarao for two and also this was very delicious. Mashed potatoes were good. The food looked like homemade. We were so full that could not eat... I was here in a weekday, only a few tables occupied overall, and was sitting on the terrace, where the waiter seemedd more interested in chatting with the security guy than wayting on us. The service was slow and bad humored, we always had to prompt for attention. As for the food, we had crab paws, and grilled fish with... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. We found our server to be outstanding. Very Accomendating. He gave us a few suggestions but we went with filet of Sol with broccoli rice. The food was nicely prepared and presented. Prior to our entree' I had the seafood soup which was spectacular. It was beyond reasonable and the food was good.... More

Far too expensive for what it is. This is typically one of those restaurants which still surf on an old reputation without renewing themselves. At leats 50% too expensive for what it is. The fresh fish is at a ridiculous price. The staff pushes only the expensive dishes. Apart from the suggestions, not sure all the products were fresh. Unfriendly... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
