I don't know how many cuts of meat we ate, but each was better than the previous serving. Simply amazing. Side dishes and salads were also quite good. Fell in love with the fried polenta sticks, just couldn't get enough of them. Pricey. Not unlike the FdC located in various US cities, but special in that this eating concept originated... More

An excellent choice for Rodizio style barbecue . The meats have very good quality and the service is top notch . Sometimes ,however , you feel you have to make the waiters go a bit slower bringing out the food. The salad buffet is excellent and the wine list good, however on the very expensive side . The all round... More

This is what happens when fine dining meets churrasco, and the results are very good. Great offerings served at a manageable pace. Views also had to the dining experience, will return always!

This was my first time at a churrascaria and I was excited because my boyfriend loves these places. The restaurant is HUGE, I mean, we were one of a handful of tables with less than 4 in a party. Most tables were 20+. I found that the 'lesser' cuts of meat came around to us often and the better, sirloin,... More

I visited Fogo do Chao for the 4th time last week, as usual the meat was excellent althoug hdisaapointed that it was not from Rio grande do Sul, the meat from Matto Grosso sweats alot so is trying than Guacha Meat, however service was good, buffet as always is good. Certainly the best Churascaria in RJ

Avoid the early to your table lesser cuts of meat, wait for or ask for the better cuts. Try to "salad" bar but don't go overboard.

We visited with a party of over 150 people and expected that with this volume of people, on top of the regular guests, the restaurant would struggle with service. We couldn't have been more wrong. Service was exemplary. Drinks flowed from the minute of arrival and the food was to die for. Steaks were the best I've ever tasted and... More

This is a great restaurant for those who know and love great cuts of meat. Also for those who don't as the salad bar provides a comprehensive offering. Each meal we ate here we left rolling out of our chairs and into a taxi! The sirloin beef was to-die-for! I would suggest this isn't the most romantic restaurant as you... More

Staying in Botafogo

Neighborhood Profile
Botafogo
In recent years, Botafogo has become one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Rio. It hosts many modern restaurants with contemporary food and many venues to listen to rock and electronic music. Its numerous bars and pubs make this area a great choice for anyone interested in a great nightlife experience - in fact, some bars in the area are open all night. Casa Daros, an art museum that showcases amazing artists from Latin America, is a must see located in a historical building in Botafogo.
