The staff could not be nicer. Everyone was very welcoming and eager to help. However, the food, and beer is terrible. The hamburgers need a lot of help and quality of meat is not good. Ordered their banana beer by mistake. It was not bad, expect every time you take a drink you start look for the fried banana chips... More

My wife and I (young-minded 50's !) went here on 5 of the 8 nights we were in Rio. It wasn't just convenient (30-second walk from our apartment) but very good value for money and 'different'. The average age was well under 30 but it's certainly not like UK 'young people' bars. Very good attentive service, huge portions (they actually... More

We had dinner there last night - it was okay. It is outside, younger crowd. Drinks served in small plastic cups our server was inattentive. There was nothing special here and you can find better food and drinks else where. Someone was running around in a gorilla suit, not a couples type place, its better with a crowd.

This restaurant is attached to Banana Jack. Stay in front, in General Osorio Place. The name is Aloha Jack. Excellent service, pleasant climate, thematic open (no chance of getting there on rainy days). I consider, the best nachos in Rio de Janeiro. Portion for 2 people. great Price

We walked in our 1st night and they advised 20 cover each. We were looking for a beer so didn't go in. We were looking for entertainment our 3rd night so decided to go for the entertainment and dinner. (No entertainment accept "spin the wheel?"). Girlfriend ordered wine and I ordered a Stella draft from menu 340ml, which arrived in... More

Nothing was terrible but it wasn't great either. We only went there because we were with someone who really likes these type of restaurants (Chili's, Applebees, etc). It was fine for what it was. Probably won't be returning - not with all the fantastic restaurants around!

Banana Jack is located in Ipanema, near its very famous General Osorio Square, where on Sundays you can visit the traditional "Hippie Fair". If you are not aware, you may get inside Banana Jack. I won't waste my time reviewing this authentic tourist trap. Just run away!

The food is so so, "junk" style. The atmosphere is not that cool (just too dark), but you can have some fun when they roll the Roullete and you wish to have something for free! One thing is worthwhile: the banana with Nutella milkshake, you won't find it anywhere else.

Banana Jack offers an interesting informal ambience and good burger options for those missing good portions of burgers, hot dogs and french fries. They also put up some tables outdoors sometimes (and call it Aloha Jack -- kind of a sister restaurant) with torches lit which look great. However, their service is really bad. My dish took so long to... More

I dropped in for a quick meal and a few beers on my own and the place served the purpose well. Beer was cold, service was nice and efficient, they had lot of interesting clips on their TVs for lonely people like me and the menu was an extensive list of American style favourites. The ribs I had were really... More
