With a wonderful location along Avenue Atlantica across from Copacabana Beach, La Maison offers a varied menu from seafood to steaks to pizza. On a busy evening during the Olympics multiple televisions sets allowed viewing of events during a "relaxed" dining experience. The bottle of wine that we ordered was corked and the Maitre D' was profusely apologetic and brought... More

Really enjoyed the meal but was slightly disappointed when the bill arrived to see the cost. Perhaps it was the wine? If you go a block or so inland from Copacabana the prices virtually halve. However, great service and good quality food.

After an all night flight an hour drive from the airport this was a great choice for our first meal. Outside seating right across the street from the beach. We sipped wine and watched Olympic cyclists pedal by. What a great way to start our Olympic journey. The seafood board was outstanding. Service, we'll call it relaxed.

Went there my first night in Rio. I was hoping for some good fish. The waiter recommended the cod dish. I had asked for a simply prepared dish... broiled or sautéed. I spoke to the head server or manager in English. He seemed to understand. What I got was some over cooked chunks of fish in a poorly tasting sauce.... More

Copabana beachfront is dotted with a plethora of restaurants. We chose this one partially by random and partially due to its proximity to our hotel. A plate of mariscos (seafood) for two was BRL 140, a fish soup 25 and a glass of caipirinha 15. Plus 10% as everywhere in Rio. Could have found better but the food was tasty... More

We went to the Maison by default. We had walked and walked and were ready for lunch and there it was in front of us. It looked a bit pricey but we were ready to eat. The service was good. They were accommodating on one of my companion's request for breakfast for lunch. The portions of everything were huge. I... More

Was there for dinner, rather disappointing. Bad service, small warm beer and steak meat quality was barely allowed (chewy and wrong cut). Expensive and service did not care nor ask if it was ok but tip was auto calculated with 15%....

the food quality does not honour the high price. Maybe some better dishes if you spend 70+ R$ but I won't try it out. If I pay 55 R$ for a steak I dont expect chewy meat and soft/oily french fries.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on our first night in Rio. The waiter recommended a seafood platter for 2 so we got it and it was AMAZING! Jumbo shrimp, regular shrimp, calamari, salmon, some type of white fish, broccoli rice, and mussels. So delicious. The Caipirinhas were a little pricey but well worth the price because they... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
