We were exploring the Santa Teresa vicinity of Rio and came across this lovely restaurant. All the seats on the terrace were full and there were quite a few tables already reserved but they did find us a table - We were treated to amazing dishes. Great flavours, good service. A real unexpected treat in a lovely vibrant restaurant

We sat out on the balcony one evening and enjoyed some delicious fish dishes. Service was very good. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Great drinks, great food, good service. Next door to our hotel but well worth the visit. Traditional Rio and Brazilian food served well. Good atmosphere, quite busy. Terrace is worth asking for if you want to be outside but the main room is fun too. Very rich desserts!

The whole experience was nice..it has great reviews on trip advisor and everywhere...everybody is familiar with it..has nice combination of spices and sauces with the protiens and also the carbs...loved their juices and they are very well known for the wine as well..a bit expensive but its worth it 😉

We ordered sweet potatoes and they were very tasty. Fish and chicken then. Fish is not really good, so better to choose other dish! Passion Fruit Capirinha great!

Very good food. Not a good wine selection. Sligthly overpriced - mainly in what refers to wines and to the simplicity of the place. Beware of the sun in the outer tables of the varanda early afternoon.

Espirito Santa was recommended to us by a local and it did not disappoint. After working up an appetite (by hiking Christ the Redeemer) and walking to this restaurant, we were in need of a delicious meal. It takes a bit to find the restaurant, but once you do, you won't be disappointed. Though we speak English, the waitstaff and... More

In Santa Tereza uphill we'll find cozy bed and breakfast places to stay, besides small restaurants with peculiar cousine style, both, usually, with a nice view of downtown area of Rio de Janeiro. In this one we had a seafood dish, with shrimp (could be bigger...) and some artisanal beers from that region (interesting, since there is a try to... More

The antique tram at the top of the Santa Theresa district is right near this eatery. Communication is a small problem but can be gotten around easily usually. The ceviche was excellent. This place is small and they do have a bar.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
