My wife and I went to Rua Lavradio to look for antiques on Saturday and returned today to make a purchase. The shop is named 161 (the address?) and we found what we were searching for and took it with us. On our way out of the door we saw the Bar Brasil across the street and I had not... More

The menu had a good selection of german style food. Generous portions of everything. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

I returned night after night for dessert. Their apple strudel got me hooked. Then I had dinner the Keiser (pork chop) and it rivaled the best steak I'd eaten. Huge piece of meat beautifully cooked with plenty of tasty potato salad and sauerkraut. Who'd da thought you'd find food like this in Rio. Highly recommended

Yes, it IS an old joint in Lapa - Rio's traditional bohemian district - but they have the best draft beer of all, the best smoked kassler, the best eissbein ever. I suggest potato... More
