We ordered the fish stew in coconut sauce with saffron rice. It was really delicious! The sausage they serve as appetizers were also good. It's just a little pricey and the interiors looked a bit tired. I could smell something moldy in the corner table where we were seated so we moved.

Would very much recommend.. my private tour guide brought us here for a "local" experience.. if you are there for the Sunday hippie market then this place is a no-brainer.. You start off with some bean stock soup and pieces of sausage.. then all the sides and meats.. we asked for the "noble" meat.. otherwords to ears, snouts, etc.. costs... More

I have read that it is touristy and expensive, but then I am a tourist and really wanted to taste feijoada on my first night in Rio. And it was excellent. Far too much food, one helping is probably enough for two people. Everything was good and the meat very good quality. For about €35; a cocktail and three mini... More

The only place you can find the Brazilian national dish everyday and not just on saturdays. Ask for the carne seca style and mix every condiment they bring to your liking. Start with a drink called batida de limao (Lemon cocktail) to open your appetite. They will bring too much food so be prepared (I was stuffed and the leftovers... More

If you're looking for a traditional Brazilian experience, with the most traditional Brazilian food, you need to eat here. Casa da Feijoada not only has the different types of feijoadas (depending on the meats that you favor), but it also has vegetarian options for the non-meat eaters in your group. Definitely wash the feijoada down with some Caipirinhas and ask... More

Not the classic set up with multiple pots of Feijoada. Everything comes in one stone pot. But super tasty! We walked in late for lunch and had a great time. Some locals a couple of tables over, had a great time as well. This place serves both tourists and locals with the same warmth. After lunch we had coffee which... More

I'm Brazilian and I tasted a lot of feijoadas, and this one is a regular one. It came with all the asides that normally comes with a feijoada, and it was very good. But the feijoada itself wasn't what I expected, I expected more flavor (it tasted like they burned the bottom of the pan and broth was too thick,... More

The food is good, but it's a tourist trap. Service was nice, but it's extremely overpriced. There are great places out there in Zona Sul for a way better price.

There is a all you can eat dish of feijoada for about 100 BRL which also comes with rice, black beans, manioc (some kind of a very very good fries made of cassava, which is similar to a potato). For the feijoada you choose one kind of meat from a big selection of meats they offer you (most of the... More
