A friend brought us to this lovely little place in the santa teresa neighbourhood and it didn't disappoint. The food here was amazing!! We got in before the evening rush, it can be very hard to get a seat at dinner time. We ordered a...type of stew ( Feijão tropeiro com pernil) to share and also got some Porções de Pastéis which are Brazilian pastry and Torresmo, which are pork crackling and a few Caipirinha to wash it down with. Simple dishes done very well, amazing! Definitely worth a visit to this place! I'll be back!!More

We were on a private tour on a rainy day and stopped here for a snack. They were't open yet but knew our guide (Rafael Torres Lopes) and served us. We had very good (unusual) Bean Empanadas and appreciated the history of the Bar. The...staff was very pleasant.More

It was a last morning in Rio and we decided to visit Santa Teresa, nestled on the hillside overlooking the city. Full of charm and bubbling with life. There was a sort of mini carnival and the place was jammed with mainly young people in...vivid costumes. We found this gem of a restaurant, but did not have a clue what to order. We sat next to two young guys and as luck would have it their food was just being served. As of one voice we said -"we'll have what their having". It was great. Judge for your self!More

Our guide dropped us here after a tour and insisted we order the fajeoldi. After 2 delicious caipirinhas we had the nerve to try. It was very good, albeit a bit salty. We split one portion and couldn’t eat dinner that night! Pleasant staff

Had my first feijoada here and have to say it was very disappointing. The dish was on the salty side and the pieces of meat in it were tough. The rice it came with was only warm not hot. The actual restaurant was a bit...on the dreary side. Place was BV recommend but can't see why.More

I set my name (for 3 people) on the waiting list and waited by the door more than an hour, just to watch other people be passed in front, for diverse unreasonable reasons. What a disappointment.

Restaurant is OK, staff is lazy, they didn't acknowledge us even if we being seated for more than 5 min and the restaurant was empty. Food is ok, not amazing and really expensive

Bar do Mineiro is an authentic classic! It's a traditional Carioca restaurant and bar. It's not fancy but it's full of great energy! Be patient as there can be a wait. But if you have a good attitude and just go with the flow (drinks...help) you'll have a great time!More
