Restaurant on the side of a hill overlooking Rio has some great food, excellent beers and beautiful views. The host speaks English but most of the staff do not. However, the menu is bi-lingual (this place is not a secret).

Good food. Ideal to go with family and friends. It sits on top of Santa Teresa and has a privileged view. You have the view of the sights of Rio de Janeiro

Restaurant with a really good view and excellent atmosphere, but it is overpriced. Food is nothing special. Just average.

In Santa Tereza this is a must go restaurant. Food is delicious. The view is quite nice. It is overpriced, but the place deserves it.

Definitely a splurge but worth every penny. High up on the Santa Teresa hill, our taxi driver had to keep asking locals for directions. You enter at the top of the restaurant and proceed down to the many terraced levels with a definite tropical feel overlooking Rio. My favorite dish was the cod sponge cake, with a very lite texture.... More

Hidden away in the area of Santa Teresa this restaurant is absolutely stunning, and a great way to enjoy authentic Brazilian cuisine. It's almost like eating in an elaborate tree house! The views across Rio are amazing and the friendly staff are happy to point out landmarks etc. The menu is extensive, and features some tasty local dishes.

Beautiful setting, attentive service and delicious seafood! Steak was also very good. This was the best meal during our week in Rio.

Our Uber driver recommended this restaurant on our way up to the Christ Redeemer. It is located way up in the hills of Santa Teresa. The drive there goes through some run down areas and we were wondering if he had led us astray then we turned a corner and were suddenly in a very nice area. We had a... More

Aprazivel is a little difficult to find in the Santa Teresa neighborhood above Rio but is definitely worth the effort. Multi-level, open-air outdoor (covered) seating makes for a great experience that feels authentic and unique. Traditional Brazilian dishes were very good, drinks were mixed well, service was very good. Overall, a very nice experience.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
