My husband and I had our 10th anniversary dinner there. Amazing food, and great service. What ambiance! Plus we saw bats! A must do!!

Hands down this was the best meal I've had since in Rio. The pão de quiejo was delicious, the caipicana (made with sugar cane ice cubes) was great, the goat entree was stunning, the chocolate cake was amazing, and the pour-over coffee was so good that I didn't even add any sugar/milk (and I normally do). And I haven't even... More

Always a great experience every time I've been here. If you go as a couple make sure to reserve a table near the window with an overview of downtown. Seafood dishes are the most popular. Must order the renowned Aprazivel caipirinha, considered to be one of the best in town. During weekends and high seasons make sure to have a... More

Came for lunch with friends. Came earlier and got seated without a reservation. The place got packed. The food was amazing, especially the lamb and the goat. Real good octopus too. They name their own cachaça and beer, which are really good. And they roast and brew their own coffee. Excellent service as well. Will definitely come back!

We had received mixed reviews of this retaurant, and were interested to see exactly what it was like, especially as we are fans of the cuisine of Minas Gerais. We were not disappointed by the quality of the food, which was well presented and tasty. For the principal dishes we enjoyed pernil and cordeiro sagredo, both of which melted in... More

So much greenery and beautiful view of the city, the al-fresco dining with grass-roofed gazebos made it an unforgettable evening. The traditional Brazilian dishes were full of flavour and absolutely delicious. This is my favorite restaurant in Rio de Janeiro

Romantic place, with a long stairway to get there. But it is worthm, although a bit expensive. Sometimes crowded at lunch time, better arriving early or in mid-afternoon/early night.

The food is great and you can really feel all the ingredients that are added which is not something happening every day. We went for lunch and the view from the top of Santa Teresa is just amazing.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
