Excelent food associated with a classic french style. Good experience. Delicious food in Rio's Town Center! Must be visited!

As one of the oldest establishments in Rio we had to come to Colombo. The decore is beautiful and the place comes with a lot of history. We came early for lunch and got seated quickly. They have excellent sandwiches, especially the one with pork belly and grilled pineapple. The famous desserts though I found totally overrated. None of the... More

This restaurant/coffee house is absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food, from a cup of tea to the best meal is incomparable. The pastries, European style are just perfect.

Went for lunch, and the ambiance is gorgeous. They have a nice system where you can page your waiter when you're ready to order, etc. Sandwiches and coffee were delicious, but dessert left us wanting more (we had high expectations for it). Left with a sour taste in our mouths because our waiter asked for a tip...multiple times, when we... More

As soon as you walk into this place the first word that comes out of your mouth is WOW, specially if you enter from the upper floor. The place is amazing and BIG. The food is very flavorful and the variety is also quite large. They change their buffet menu every day. The the 20 foot HUGE mirrors specially imported... More

Great looking place. There are displays with historical photos and old silverware/china from the old days. Similar to Cafe Tortoni in Buenos Aires from the historical perspective. There is a souvenir shop inside. A wait for the main seating area may take a while; you may want to go to the area on the right from the main area. It's... More

The place is beautiful and is a remainder how life was in Rio by the turn last century. The ambiance and the service bring us back into the past and the snacks, cakes and beverages served are typical Brazilian ones.

We had a delicious lunch here on our last day in Rio. There is a great variety of food and every dish is prepared perfectly. The service is attentive and excellent. The restaurant itself is beautiful with old world charm with a live piano player!!! Highly recommended.

Very nice place for lunch or for a coffee. It looks a bit "abandoned". It has a great potential to be a fantastic restaurant, it just needs more care from its owners.

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
