Confeteira Colombo has a very beautiful interior but It is a very busy place . As soon you enter this place, there is a photographer who takes your picture to be purchased on your way out. The service was good, the cakes were very sweet...and the coffee was ok. It definitely is worth a visit for the beautiful building deco.More

Food is average and service was probably the worst I experienced in Rio. The building and the history behind the business is the only worth part of the experience. The bigger the group the worse it will be.

The food is first class, the ambiance classy. Nevertheless it´s worth asking yourself if queuing up and (some) waiting for service correspond to the elevated price level (in comparison to Carioca alternatives - not to European cities).

We came here for lunch one day, and we were totally unimpressed and couldn't leave quick enough. Yes it's a lovely building, beautiful mirrors and felt very up-market. However, you are packed into a room and sat at a small table and felt completely abandoned...afterwards, and I could see around us that many other customers were feeling the exact same. We ordered a chicken coxa creme, a pastel, and a milkshake. The chicken wasn't cooked properly, the pastel was bone-dry and the milkshake came out room-temperature. The service was terrible, beyond slow and unorganised. We had to remind the waiter that we had also ordered a milkshake, which came eventually but we had finished our poorly-cooked food by this time anyway. Would only recommend visiting this place to take a photo from the entrance, and then leave. It is absolutely not worth it.More

Said to be one of the 10 most beautiful coffee shops in the world… and it absolutely is!! The pecan pastry I had was also delicious. Loved the place and will definitely go back! I also enjoyed walking around it in the historic center

This is their second branch which is located in 2nd floor of the CCBB. We initially visited the main branch, unfortunately it was already closed at 1700H. This branch is open until 1800H. We arrived in the place by 1720H. Prior getting inside the main...building, proof of vaccination is needed. The Confeitaria is small only, with limited sitting capacity. As far as I counted, there were only 9 tables more or less. We had to wait for at-least 15-20minutes before we were entertained and got a table. The menu is simple; limited choices compared to the main branch itself. Desserts and coffees tasted average. Not special or unusual. Nevertheless, at least we have tried it.More

Expensive and slow service. Not worth it. If you want to go there, just take some pictures at the door and leave. The architecture is beautiful.

Beautiful surroundings but very lazy service. A real shame, as we were really excited to sample truly historical cuisine.

I have been in today afternoon for coffee and pastries with some family members. The place is very nice and does look like an European establishment. Unfortunately, neither the food and drinks nor the service was at the level. Waiters were rude and impolite. The...service was slow but quick to kick us out of the door when it was closing time. No need to waist your time there. If you do be careful as the district is not the best... Philippe P.More

So I may have been the only 55 year old in this venerable establishment happily eating waffles and pistachio ice cream. The menu was much more grown up than my choice would indicate. My sons and husband made grown up choices all of which were...incredible. The Coneiteria is an incredible old Dame and you should definetly add it to your tour. Situated in the old downtown area and surrounded by interesting shops and street vendors you can choose to take beutiful pastry and cup of coffee to go, sit inside and revel in old world sumptuousness.More

Well worth a visit, although you may have to queue outside to get in. Area is not as grand as it used to be so be careful, but the cafe is an essential visit. It is like stepping back in time with beautiful surroundings and...excellent service. Food, especially cake selection, are the highlight.More

I've been to Confeitaria Colombo at the Copacabana Fort various times. But this was the first time I reall sat down at the one on the center. It's truly a beautiful place. We had a few different pastries, both savory and sweet. They were good...but nothing extraordinary. If you want a to visit a traditional place then it's worth the visit.More

Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born.
