About
Cultural and artistic heritage of Rio de Janeiro, the history of Confeitaria Colombo is mixed with that of the city. Inaugurated in 1894, the place was the scene of political and literary meetings. From this you can already imagine the amount of stories that Colombo has gathered and brings together to this day. Time- honoured stop for those who are visiting Rio, the historic headquarters is located in the Center. Everyone is enchanted by the architecture, the rosewood-framed Belgian crystal mirrors, the marble-topped tables, the straw chairs, the floor and the skylight. In social media subtitles, one of the most recurring comments is that to when you enter Colombo it feels like you are in the

I've been to Confeitaria Colombo at the Copacabana Fort various times. But this was the first time I reall sat down at the one on the center. It's truly a beautiful place. We had a few different pastries, both savory and sweet. They were good...but nothing extraordinary. If you want a to visit a traditional place then it's worth the visit.More

The cafe is quite touristic place and sometime you may have to wait for a table for quite sometime. But it’s worth it because the decorations of the restaurant is really beautiful and also the food is good!

Starting from the charmy street where is located in downtown Rio, Colombo is a trip back to 1930’s. Very well maintained and with delicious breakfast menu or just a tea and coffe break, is a must!

My wife andI did the free walking tour downtown and this was the first stop on our tour. It is a French inspired cafe. There were lots of savory and sweet treats there. The architecture was really cool too. I got a Brigadeiro, which is...a Brazilian dessert with condensed milk and chocolate. It was delicious! But it was the first thing I had eaten all day and it was pretty sugary. For a dessert after a meal, it would have been amazing! I would have liked to go back here after a meal and get a dessert but we didn't get a chance. Definitely worth going to when in Rio!More

This is one of the most well preserved building in the old downtown of Rio. The most incredible is that it continues to be a top notch restaurant and coffee shop, since it was founded in late 1890’s. My mother used to take me and...my brothers to Confeitaria Colombo when we were young. Now is my turn to take my son. And nothing has changed !More

We only got dessert here, but the food overall looked delicious. I celebrated my birthday with cake and ice cream from Confeitaria Colombo and it was wonderful. The cake was decadent and the atmosphere divine. Be aware they close early (around 6:30 or 7 pm)...and they are closed Sundays. A must visit for anyone stopping in Rio!More
