We visited Banana da Terra as a family of three (two adults and one teen) and had possibly our most delicious and interesting meal in Brazil. The food quality and style compares well with fine dining-type restaurants in other countries (but not too formal). Its not super cheap but cheaper than food at a similar level and style at home.... Food is good and well prepared. Service and the place are very nice. Size of portion is good for an adult to have the main plate and a desert. For a teenager you will need to get an entry. Prices are medium to high with main at around R$90 for one

We misjudged the distance from our hotel to PAraty, and then again from the drop-off taxi point to the restaurant, and after tripping all over the VERY cobbled old town streets... More

Super dinner at this restaurant and a very lovely setting. But be prepared for high prices as well. We ate at another place in Paraty that we thought equally good but significantly less. Still I would not hesitate to recommend Banana da Terra, it was awesome food.

The restaurant is very pleasant, with an inner green courtyard. We were staying near the kitchen and was interessting to follow how the cooks were preparing the dishes. The plates themselves are personalised as they come from a ceramic shop. We had for example: Gratinado de aipim com peixe e camarões, that by reading the description it should have tasted... More

Very nice ambient, good service, great menu and very very good food. Had a crab starter in a pot that was lovely, and the main was fish and shrimps in a coconut sauce, super tasty ! Other dishes were good as well, reasonably priced, well recommended.
