I love going there for coffee or tea or a bite to eat. I love that I can sit there and work on my laptop with internet connection, look at the beautiful art on the walls that changes frequently and small gift items that they sell too. Oh and there's a reading library in the back room too. Bathrooms are... More

Great stop when you're on the road for a to-go cappuccino. Cafe was housed in an old tavern/butcher shop. It seemed to be a popular location.

Popped in for a coffee after Northland College advisor said it was a hangout for students and faculty. Lots of ambiance and menu choices!

You know a place is serious about its espresso when the first thing you see upon entering is a La Marzocco. Excellent espresso drinks and breakfast. The staff was great, and it's a cool space, too. We'll be back.

I first experienced Black Cat Cafe when I visited Ashland for the first time about six years ago. The very first place I wanted to go when we planned to re-visit Ashland was Black Cat! We didn't have a chance to eat there at this trip, but the last time we were there, the Hungry Rabbit pita was delicious. The... More

Great coffee from a local shop. Also have tasty cinnamon rolls. I have not Sat down and ate their food yet, but I do see a lunch visit in the near future

Good beverages, reasonably priced. Open front room in classic old storefront, with cozy reading room in the back. Good food sourced from local producers. A favorite hangout of college students and locals alike.

The food is real. It is fresh. The coffee is tasty and full of caffeine! Nice atmosphere with an art gallery. We bought Black Cat t-shirts because we wanted to be cool. It's in a cool town with a lot of really cool and mixed up college kids! Go there!

Time was taken to prepare the perfect coffees! We stop here whenever we are in Ashland. Also have breakfast and pastries.

Stopped on impulse for a cappuccino and then had a wonderful version of a fried egg sandwich made fresh with eggs from a rare chicken breed...10/10! All the staff seemed happy and smiled a lot, the place has a sense of humour with it's signage and the coffee was so good I had a second! All the better for being... More
