We stopped in to the Black Cat when the farmers market was going on outside. The chai tea was mild with good spice (but light on the tea flavor depth). Mocha was nice, but not as strong as we'd like it. Service was very friendly and efficient.

Trying not to eat meat can sometimes be trying. Being vegan, well not today. The wife ordered the vegetarian quiche and I had the daily egg special. It had quinoa, avocado and eggs topped with sriracha. Oh man, put some hot sauce on my eggs and I'm in heaven. The coffee. Perfect. Hot, black and strong like Halle Berry or... More

Right across the street from the Ashland Baking Company. I will hit this place first for my morning red-eye and then over the ABC!

Same owner as Ashland bakery which is across the street. My wife wanted a salad to go for picnic lunch. They made it to her own specifications.

Largely vegetarian or vegan. Good variety of sandwiches and salads. Features local fresh produce. Lots of coffee drinks. Friendly service. Moderate prices. Very casual.

I love going there for coffee or tea or a bite to eat. I love that I can sit there and work on my laptop with internet connection, look at the beautiful art on the walls that changes frequently and small gift items that they sell too. Oh and there's a reading library in the back room too. Bathrooms are... More

Great stop when you're on the road for a to-go cappuccino. Cafe was housed in an old tavern/butcher shop. It seemed to be a popular location.

Popped in for a coffee after Northland College advisor said it was a hangout for students and faculty. Lots of ambiance and menu choices!

You know a place is serious about its espresso when the first thing you see upon entering is a La Marzocco. Excellent espresso drinks and breakfast. The staff was great, and it's a cool space, too. We'll be back.

I first experienced Black Cat Cafe when I visited Ashland for the first time about six years ago. The very first place I wanted to go when we planned to re-visit Ashland was Black Cat! We didn't have a chance to eat there at this trip, but the last time we were there, the Hungry Rabbit pita was delicious. The... More
