Just renovated with a lovely outside patio to avoid the always crowded main saloon. All the staff is incredibly well trained and receptive. The owner is always walking around to make sure all is set. And the food... Start with a local piranha soup and then choose between the various options for local food. We had the moqueca a kind... More

The well appointed restaurant in the center of downtown Bonito has excellent food. In fact our meal was one of the best we had in Brazil. The restaurant is quite large, but the ambiance and noise level is upscale. The drinks are excellent as is the fish. This place is worth the effort to find.

I found the decor very nice, and the waiters' fame of being attentive is higher than what I got. the "traira empanada" chief dish was hard to taste given it is a light thin fish overfried - would not have it again. I thought Juanita, Taboa, and Tapera were much better food... and for less.

Food, we had fish in coconut - ginger Sauce, was delicious. The White wine was served cold and a cooler was provided at the same time. Prices are OK. As it is a bigger place, do not worry about the Speed of Service. It was fast even though the Restaurant was fully occupied. In case you see People waiting outside.... More

The restaurant is beautiful, rustic at the right point, has good service and the food is amazing. I had the best Pirarucu that I have ever had. Strongly recommended.

Absolutely great and big portions for 2 people are bigger so if you are 3 or 4 pax you can just order for 2 and it will be just enough. Staff was great and very helpful.

Simply amazing food. We've had a good look around Bonito and cant find better when we want a nice restaurant. Nothing to fault. We had one fish starter dish and one steak dish and that comes to between £25 to £30 for both of us with a drink. Quality of the food and service was excellent. Portions were so good... More

Casa do João is a wonderful place. First of all the decoration is exceptionally beautiful. There are tables under trees, where the tables themselves are a work of art. The other tables are also nice, made of raw wood. The place is big and comfortable. The waitresses are very polite and helpful. And the food is delicious! For all that,... More

We had a driver to take us to the tours (we don't drive and had our baby with us) and she recommended Casa do Joao to us, and I'm glad she did! (It's away from the main street, so if you don't veer off you'd miss it!) We went for a late lunch after visiting Praia Da Figueira and decided... More
