This place is terrible. They tell you were are running 1.5 hours behind and its 2.5 hours behind. If you are a GH driver forget about making any money. You sit in their parking lot for 2.5 hours. When you call to ask if the...food is done; all they tell you is we send the driver a message. Well, twice now, I never received a message telling me food was ready to be picked up.More

The waitress was very friendly. Took time to explain their menu and was very attentive. The quality of the food and prices were reasonable. I will definitely go back again. Nice atmosphere.

When this place first opened approximately 15 year's ago it was beautiful & clean. You could always count on an excellent meal. I moved away & came back to order take out on Wed. 1-22-20 with some friends at 3:30 p.m. When we arrived &...let the hostess know we would like to go to the bar & order take out she was extremely confused. First thing I noticed was how run down the place has become. The hostess stand was piled with stuff all around it & the girl had to step over stuff to get out from behind it. The bar looked sad like it had been forgotten. We placed our orders & while waiting I used the restroom, another poorly run down area. The once elegant dining room now looks like they are struggling. Unkept floors & booths. The big plus was the food was wonderful!! I sure hope they put some time & effort into sprucing it up.More

I was WOW'd by how terrible my meal was last night! This place has seriously given up on their standard of service and quality of food. I had just gotten done waiting on table all afternoon at a very busy local restaurant and had not...eaten all day so I was very excited to eat my favorite dish and be taken care of. We arrived at the restaurant and unfortunately was left standing at the host station for at least 4 minutes. I thought this must be because they are extremely busy behind the curtain hiding the dining area. When we were greeted, we were met by a very friendly, cheerful young lady with beautiful curly hair (you know who you are). We were led to our table and that's when all the problems atarted. Our server seemed rushed even though it was not busy at all. We ordered our drinks and those arrived in a timely manner (although my friend had to ask for his beer glass twice.. no biggie). We put in our order for food which included appetizers. 20 minutes later I'm informed that most of what we've ordered in out of stock. 20 minutes later. We both had to then make a decision to order items we didnt necessarily want to eat which was a big disappointment. Our server also then asks us "would you like your appetizers now?". Ummm, yeah. I would like them before the meal because I haven't eaten all day and they are APPETIZERS! Hello! Yes, we want them! My friend was not a fan of his egg drop soup and said it tasted "oily". How do you mess up egg drop soup? While waiting for our entrees, I could see a table of 7-8 peoples' meals sitting under the heating lamp for what seemed like at least 10 minutes on a serving tray. When the food was served you could see that film on top of the food which happens after sitting under a heat lamp. I was not impressed. Our entrees arrived and honestly the sauce on my dish tasted like nothing. Not even soy sauce could help their "white sauce". Disgusting. My friend enjoyed his entree so that was good. My last issue was our server couldn't handle more than one dish at a time so virtually no pre-bussing. My friend even asked the server to remove empty plates from our two-top table to which he replied " in a minute". We were flabbergasted. I just got done providing a high level of service and then I come here and I was provided lack luster service and mediocre food. This was the last straw in regards to customer service. The last two times I've cane in prior to this visit I was treated like scum by one of your managers, Nikki, for no reason. I hope people find other options for their dining needs -- there are much better Asian dining establishments in this area.More

Picked this venue based on great reviews. Visited during the lunch hour and they were very busy. The hostess seemed overwhelmed. Waited longer than expected for a table. Once seated, we found the staff to be very friendly and attentive. Nice atmosphere. Limited lunch menu...and a bit over priced for Appleton. Our food was good, not great. Our waiter (neglected to get his name) was outstanding. Very friendly and attentive. Made our visit, despite average food, enjoyable.More

Disappointing! We were expecting much more and, based on other reviews, we wanted to love this place. It just didn’t happen. On the positive side, waitstaff were friendly. That’s about it for positive. When asked about various items, they did a terrible job of describing...the menu. They took orders but had little knowledge of the food, not even aware that two of the six meals delivered were not what was ordered. We had a party of 6. One order didn’t get “put in.” Finally we asked about it as we all sat there waiting for the last meal to be delivered. Oops! It was then rushed and was another wrong meal when it arrived. They offered to remake it. In the mean time we had all politely waited for the final meal to be served so all of our food was cold. We just accepted the mistake and ate. The food was certainly not special. The Singapore noodles were dry and “mealy” and bland. The chicken dishes were way overcooked, like hard pieces of candy. It was weird. Fried rice was decent but nothing exceptional. The Rangoon and the garlic eggplant were the best dishes we had. Oh, one more positive; they did comp the late meal. We visit Appleton several times a year and we’re on the hunt for a great Asian restaurant. This didn’t work for us. There are others that our friends who live their tried to talk us into. Next time we’ll take their advice and go elsewhere.More

Our visit did not begin well, as the hostess greeted us as if we were interrupting her day. After leading us past the handful of empty tables that had not yet been cleared from previous guests, she tossed the menus on the table, mumbled something...inaudible and went back to her station. Mercifully, our server, Clinton arrived a few minutes later. He had a wonderful personality, was very helpful in making menu selections and quickly erased our memory of the hostess. The food arrived in good time and was excellent. While waiting for our food, we had time to take in the atmosphere. While the decor is interesting and tasteful, it was obvious that very little has been done since the place was originally set up. The carpeting in the upper booth area is literally black and worn almost to the floor. The painted walls are peppered with furniture dents. Not sure I would come back, unless they make some strides in cleaning the place up.More

We had a family member over who wanted to eat in and suggested Asian. Our usual Taste of Thai was closed, so I looked for an alternative and heard good things about GingeRootz from friends and family. We ordered an order of Chicken Satay skewers,...the Korean Tofu Hotpot, Thai Style Curry, and the Kung Pao Trio. The order came quickly, which was the only thing of note. The Satay was okay, just because we all like satay sauce. However, at the base of the satay appetizer was a ton of undressed iceberg lettuce that was brown and clearly old. Needless to say, we didn't eat it. The Thai Curry was the best entree by far. Still, it wasn't Thai. It was generic, Chinese style curry you would get for MUCH cheaper from a more traditional American-style Chinese restaurant. All were ordered hot and spicy and none of them were. The Kung Pao Chicken and Hotpot were insanely bland to the point that we were constantly reaching for salt or soy sauce. We talked about cutting up our own ginger and adding some other aromatic spices like garlic, but since we had ordered takeout, we didn't want to put in additional effort to try and save a disgusting dish. The vegetables were all part of those frozen Oriental packs and when you're paying $14-$15 per entree, we were hoping for something fresh. The meats screamed of being boiled, not grilled (why would you boil meat)? I can understand the hot pot if the chicken absorbed flavor, but the broth of the hot pot was flavorless garbage. It didn't have any taste of even basic soup stock. It was just water with some chili flakes sprinkled in, meaning I was basically eating unseasoned frozen vegetables, boiled chicken, and freezer-burnt shrimp with the most tasteless soft tofu you could imagine. Yuck. Save your money if you want Americanized Chinese/Asian style cuisine and go to a small mom & pop shop in a strip mall. Otherwise, head to a specialty restaurant that focuses on just one type of Asian cuisine like Eggrolls Inc. or Taste of Thai. Anything is better than this personification of depression in food form. Avoid this place at all costs.More

Unexpected. Had the sweet and sour chicken. So good. They serve a salad before the main course. Amazing. Homemade dressing with peanuts. So good. Will definitely go back. The waitress knew the menu very well along with all the ingredients.
