We've been coming to Mark's East Side for Friday night fish fry for over 25 years. In that time, the fish fry was always - ALWAYS - consistently good. But now, I'm not sure anymore. We were there recently and had a disagreeable surprise. The haddock was overcooked - so very dry. And this was not only the first batch... More

We were in Appleton area last weekend and had the pleasure of dining here on Friday evening. It is a very busy place on Friday and we waited an hour to be seated. The bar area is very busy and bartenders very friendly and fast. I had the fried haddock and my husband the walleye. My fish was excellent and... More

I have been to Marks many times but only in the evening., and it is one of our favorite places to go. 7 of us went to the restaurant on the Tuesday lunch of restaurant week, our waitress was obviously busy and it took almost half an hour to get her attention to order. Starters were small but ok, 2... More

Recently moved to Appleton but had previously visited many times with my sister who loves this place. The food and service is excellent. The fish fry on Friday is a great bargain...LOTS of food and fish for a reasonable cost. The Old Fashioneds are really good and maybe I should have had just one...but well, did I say they are... I've been there several times. The service and food are always consistently good. It can be very busy on Friday nights. The bar is fun and the drinks are great. They make grasshoppers, which are a refreshing after-dinner treat.

My wife and another couple from Appleton went to Mark's during their Restaurant week I'm glad we had reservations as the place was packed for lunch. Service was quick, waitress ( Jody ) was friendly and efficient.

Tried this restaurant for the 1st time during 2016 restaurant week. We opted for the specilal lunch offer. The three course lunch was excellent. The food was well prepared, abd the service attentive. My wife and I were shown the lunch and dinner menus. The selection of German and American dishes was very broad and the prices were reasonable. We... More

Went during restaurant week,to try something different. What a disappointment,I was wondering if there was cook in the kitchen,or the dishwasher took over. The appetizer was too salty to eat,the vegetables were raw and the veal was tough. How do you serve tough veal.I'm lost for words, what a bad experience this has been. Also my partner felt the value of the food wasn't... Mark's food is great! I have mostly had the fish on Fridays but steaks are good too. They can be busy on weekends so just prepare for a bit of a wait. We will continue to go here as one of our local favorites.

Mark's East Side is our favorite place to go out for a nice dinner (lunch is great too)! We've been there dozens and dozens of times over many years - never had a meal that wasn't marvelous and service that wasn't great!
