We have been there many times and really enjoyed the experience... today was much different. A group of three men came in that were very drunk and very loud, every other word was F--K! If I had not already ordered I would have walked out....The female bartender warned them a few times, but it really didn't help much. These guys were beyond just having a good time, they were cutting in to everyone's enjoyment. Not sure if we will go back, at least not on Sundays.More

Was told the fish fry was really good. It did offer perch. I had breaded, deep fried, bluegill which was one long piece, too many fries, Coleslaw wasn't cold. My spouse had a mix of shrimp, haddock, and perch. All breaded and deep fried. Not crazy about...all the deep fried food. Don't think we'll go back for the fish fry, but would like to try other menu items. Wed is better than Friday for fish fry, way less busy.More

We had a late dinner here (8:00 pm?) when we got into town late on a Thursday night. The food was good, and came our fast. I had a BLT and my boyfriend had a wrap and they were both huge and all the veggies...tasted fresh. We ended up staying for several hours and drinks because the atmosphere was so friendly. It seems like a place the locals hang out. The bartenders were friendly and hard working.More

What has happened to the shrimp???Before they were large round, sweet shrimp and Wed. when we went there for the best shrimp in the Valley, they were small, butterflied and more batter than shrimp. What a huge disappointment!!! Please if you want continued business ,...bring back the original shrimp!!!!More

So my son told us about this place that has a Monday special for $.25 wings- I had the teriyaki and the garlic parmesan. Also in our group someone had the medium and the hot wings. Had to get my cheese curds too since we...don’t have them in Arkansas. They were all delicious but actually my favorite were the medium because I do like a little spice and they had a nice little heat to them; if I lived here I would be there on Mondays for sure definitely check it out absolutely delicious.More

Wow. We read about Rookies in a local magazine and thought we should give it a try. We did this past Friday. The food was outstanding, the people were friendly, the beer was cold (with a good selection), and the place was really clean. We...will be back soon!More

Stopped in and 3 of us shared a pizza, very good! These are homemade pizzas, not frozen, good crust, not thin, not thick. Staff was very attentive & nice and treated us great. Will come back to try their Friday fish fry.

This was my first time at Rookies. Such a clean, friendly bar. Woman's bathroom was so nicely decorated and clean. Patio was fantastic with wonderful seating and a fire pit.Servers were very friendly and helpful. If you don't like loud noises, the background piped in...music was extremely loud, but if you ask the waitress to lower the speaker nearest you, she will without hesitation do so. And did I mention the food? We came in for burgers. Well this was by far the BEST burger I have ever had in Appleton. Nicely sized burger, the most succulent, juicy burger ever on a delicious bun. This is indeed my go to place for burgers and a great time out!More

Nice neighborhood bar with $2 tacos on Tuesday. I had one chicken and one beef. You can make them as hot (or not) as you want. Fast and cheap. Good place to watch sports but not get blasted out by the noise.

Avoided the Friday fish fry crowd and went to Rookies for a late lunch. They are open from 11am until 2am. We have been trying different fish places and this one is on top. The clam chowder was creamy and had lots of clam pieces....The perch had a crunchy, not greasy batter coating and was HOT when it came to the table. Good slaw, fries and tartar sauce. I had never heard of this place but now it will be a frequent fish stop.More

The jumbo deep fried shrimp are impressive. Very large, delicious, and won't break your budget. The perfect Friday night dinner. I would suggest calling ahead for carry out...long wait times for food orders. I try to visit Appleton once a month just to enjoy Rookie's...shrimp.More
