What an impressive wine list they have here. Also, attentive staffs. Prices are a bit on the above side. Food ok. But wine list great.

A perfect dinner by the window with a night bay view. Classics of French cuisine (pate de foie, gratin daphinois, steak etc) served by attentive staff. We didn't try seafood this time but there are plenty of options as well. It wasn't crowdy that night...so that's what I liked most. The atmosphere was really romantic, with candles and low light. A waiter offered a scarf cause the a/c was too strong as for me (but locals love it when it is), that was really kind of him. Totally enjoyed the place.More

Pleasant atmosphere with a stunning view of the bay. A reservation by the window is a must here! French culinary classics in the bilingual menu, olive green chairs, welcoming staff. A cosy family place with French chanson music in the background. A perfect choice for...a Sunday lunch!More

Elegant atmosphere, magnificent view of "Baia de Todos os Santos", though in a questionable neighborhood. The menu sticks to traditional French with no chef's personal touch. Pricey for what you get.

Chez Bernard is a Parisian bistro in Salvador that always maintain its tradition, with delicious French food, good wine list, helpful attendants and a visual of the Baia de Todos os Santos beyond description.I recommend it to everyone, Baianos and visitors

The dishes are nothing special. The view is nice (but the neighborhood is awfull don't think of going on foot). The service and ambience are great, but don't warrant the steep pricing.

nice view above the Bahia de todos is santos. Best at night. I order a menu degustation: was ok but not unbelievable, regular. My daughter order a bife ancho and she liked.

Had an amazing lunch experience. The food was delicious and the view fabulous. They also carry a great variety of wines.

Chez Bernard is unequivocally the best French restaurant in Salvador, its view is magnificent, its food delicious and it has a very romantic atmosphere. Though it is kind of expensive, I recommend its Steak au poivre. You won't regret going there!

My wife and I have been eating at this restaurant for decades. It closed for awhile and underwent renovations. I was disappointed the last time we were in Salvador not to be able to eat here and was excited to learn that it had reopened....We were there on a rainy day, so the view was not as spectacular as it usually is. Go for lunch to be able to enjoy the view. The steaks were good but not great. No one in our party really raved about their food. As often is the case in Brazil today, this restaurant seemed too expensive for what it offered. Of course, one might argue that the view is priceless. We'll go back, and hope for better food and better weather.More
