We received a suggestion for dinner: this Akuaba. We decided to go and it was a wonderful surprise. The waiter suggested good plates and the food was delicious! We ate fish: prepared in a way brazilians call moqueca, and, as an entrée we had small bits of a small kind of octopus prepared with dendé oil. and local pepper sauce.... More

You'll find the best typical dishes from the Northeast of Brazil! There are some tourists but I guess most of the dinners are locals very well dressed. The food is delicious but carefull with the "Caldo de Sururu". Affordable.

Get yourself on a journey of exploring new odd flavours and tastes and you would like to end up at a place like this. Interesting combinations where seafood is the base will challenge your senses.

It is hard to make an objective review of this restaurant without sounding too enthusiastic. In a few words, it is the best restaurant in Maceió and one of the best in Brazil. Just that. Everything is perfect: the starters (do not miss the acarajé), the drinks (their caipirinhas are delicious and very, very dangerous), the main dishes and the... More

I usually go on vacations on Maceió. I like this city, beaches and small "pousadas". Probably, I have already visited all goods rest/bars. Akuaba, nowadays, is one of the best ones. Its mix of Northeast and African cuisine is simple and efficient. How nobody thought it before? When you go, try "octopussy on the skewer", a tasty starter and "caipirinha... More

We chose this restaurant as it was participating in the festival of food. The experience was very average, food bland, and service next to non existent. There were four other tables, enough staff to have a full football game , both sides, and no one could seem bothered. All talking and laughing amongst themselves! I ordered a lamb skewer, very...
