We decided on eating at Frida's Gourmet Mexican Cuisine after touring Whidbey Island. We ordered the fish tacos, shrimp fajitas, and beef enchiladas; they all were extremely delicious! The menu was expansive, and had the traditional Mexican food as well as some other interesting items. The dishes came with multiple sides (coleslaw, rice, beans, etc.), which added to the great... This is not your typical Tex-Mex style eatery. The dishes are what you might find in Mexico. Have eaten dinner here twice and both times, serve and food were very good

We happened to see this restaurant while in Anacortes the other day and decided to go in. It's full name is Frida's Gourmet Mexican Cuisine. Gourmet is a word that is often overused or even misused so we were skeptical, but the ambiance looked nice. The menu selection was vast and it had things on it that are normally missing... More

It is fitting that this mexican restaurant is dedicated to two artists, Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, because the chef here too is an artist. I am still dreaming of the Chiles en Nogada (stuffed peppers in creamy walnut sauce). The addition of crunchy pomegranates to the dish was genius. The chicken tacos were extraordinary too, and were served with... More

Lovely romantic ambiance sets the stage for a delightful Mexican dinner. The taco chips are warm, thin and crunchy!! Yummy I had the enchiladas and my friend had the tamales. Both were quite tasty!

Frida's used to delight us with their wide selection of tasty and special gourmet Mexican festival foods. No longer. Management has downsized their menu to a very few gourmet items and now they offer mostly the usual, boring Tex-Mex stuff. The menu card, by the way, was so tattered it nearly fell apart in my hands. They didn't have my... More

If you like the standard Mexican chain restaurants, this is not the place for you. This restaurant has not conformed to the standard Americanized Mexican food. They serve up some incredible chow. Meals are well portioned, seasoned to perfection, spicy as hell. The restaurant is clean, staff is quick and friendly, meals were out in no time. My Steak Gerardo... More

I know, how good can Mexican food be, right? The name of the restaurant says it all: gourmet cuisine. This is a whole new level of fresh ingredients and flavors that are carefully combined and beautifully presented. We savored every bit of the generous portions in our dishes. Excellent homemade green and red salsas. Good strong margaritas. Cordial service. Reasonable... More

The food was good and plentiful, with a varied menu as well as reasonably priced. The service was very good too. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Mexican food.
