This isn't the place to go if you just want greasy tacos or enchiladas with rice & beans all thrown together on the plate & all tasting the same. Definitely a "cut above", with delicious, unique dishes & a gourmet touch.

They have created a lovely dining space and offer unique and flavorful Mexican Cuisine. It was not your typical Mexican fare which I love as well. The food seemed lighter and freshly cooked. It was unlike any other Mexican cuisine I've had but I loved it.

Our First visit and the place looked good so went in. Decor nice and seated in a nice private booth. Service very slow and it looked like there were not enough servers working. Finally took our drink order and drinks came quickly. Margaritas looked great but tasted weak & watery. Fellow who seemed rushed and harried took our order. We... More

Everything was going so well... Fresh, warm chips accompanied with two perfectly spiced sauces ... Fruity and tasty sangria... Delictable Cameron de Coco (7 prawns coated with coconut flakes)... And now time for the main event...our entrees Hubby's enchilada de salmon was over-filled with tender, pink salmon with an amazing roasted tomato sauce...a very substantial filling indeed. My enchilada abuelita... More

Frida's Gourmet Mexican Cuisine is a special place. It has some very special menu items, named after Mexican and Spanish artists, such as Lamb ala Frida, Chicken Pablo Picasso. We came in for a quick meal of chicken fajitas, but we saw and smelled some of the main entrees and are sure to return. This is a very interesting restaurant.

We were in Anacortes to attend the Arts Festival. We had been on our feet for hours fighting the crowd and heat. Other restaurants we passed looked crammed and chaotic. When we arrived at Frida's there were lots of people in the front of the restaurant, however we were escorted to the back room, to a very private table. It... More

Had lunch here during the Arts & Crafts Festival. Even though it was the lunch hour, they gave us dinner menus. The decor of the restaurant is very nice and the food was quite tasty. The service was okay -- not terribly attentive or friendly. The meals seem a bit overpriced, but that seems to be the norm for Anacortes.... More

Six of us went to Frida's for dinner. I had Steak Carlos Merida (steak strips with onions and no pales and lots of seasoning), my wife had Chiles en Nogada (roasted poblano peppers filled with ground beef and pork, and also fruit and nuts). The others had tacos, burritos and fajitas. The chips and salsa appetizer were so-so, stale chips... More

We loved the food. It reminded us of our many trips to central Mexico. Be sure and order the stuffed poblanos. They are outstanding. The sauces are rich in flavor too. Service is phenomenal. Suggest dining outside on these beautiful summer days.
