We were invited to this restaurant yesterday by my very good friend for a party of four. When we ordered our two appetizers of bacon wrapped shrimp and a flatbread, they came rather quickly and they were good. We ordered our meals as follows: my...wife ordered the special Chilean Sea Bass, I ordered the pistachio crusted grouper, my friend ordered the NY strip and his wife ordered scallops. After over an hour wait for our dinners, buddy’s steak was luke warm, his wife’s scallops were luke warm and the sauce that was around them was sort of dried and wasn’t fluid any more, it had sort of solidified and had a weird texture to it like gravy that’s cold. My wife’s Chilean sea bass was cold and so was the polenta on her plate, my pistachio crusted grouper was super soggy and just barely warm. Clearly we could tell that the dinners had been sitting for quite a while for some reason. The manager Matt visited our table and we politely expressed our concerns. Matt stated that the take-out system was overloaded and this was the reason for the large delay. We only told him about my wife’s sea bass because it was actually cold and she couldn’t eat it, the other three of us ate our terrible meals as not to create any scene. They removed the sea bass from the Bill and comped the truffle dessert. Overall the people were polite and kind but the time management of the food orders was terrible and the meals were not remotely worth the price paid.More

My husband, son and I visited for a wine tasting and dinner (my son's treat) back in August! We had a great time and Antoin was the best waiter! Food was good too. We came back in September as we are wine club members (highly...recommend this) and we were going to ask for Antoin, but it always seems when we ask for a particular server we just don't get them (BTW, this is not just this restaurant). So as it turns out we weren't crazy about the table they were going to sit us at and requested another table away from the outdoors. Well, it just so happens that with the change of tables we had Antoin again!! YEAH!! Another great experience and another great meal.More

Chris our server, good food and a nice gesture by management save this rating ! Hostesses need some training. After postponing our trip to Ocean City to celebrate our 44th Anniversary, we decided to chose a local business in Ashburn, Cooper’s Hawk where we have...dined before (pre-pandemic). Located in the Belmont Chase Shopping Center where there is a Whole Foods. In keeping with CDC recommendations, I read that it’s one of the few but growing restaurants that allows you to book outside tables and after booking reached out to the restaurant requesting a shaded table if possible, with a fan (we had scouted the restaurant)/ Morgan Wims reached back out and indicated she would do what she could to help our request. We arrived promptly for our 6:30 pm reservation and even though you dine outside, you have to come inside . It is cool inside and its where the hostess table is so e went inside and shortly after were led to our table (BTW for customers who follow CDC guidelines to eat outside, it would be nice to have a station on the patio ). Here is where we were disappointed as the table, we were seated at was the hottest one w/o an umbrella, fan and had multiple flies on the table. We asked to be seated elsewhere and were told no. We then saw a table in the corner with shade and I asked a server if we could sit there and he said check with the front…who said sure (memo to management. When this situation occurs, let customers know another table will be ready in xxx minutes and we will gladly wait). WE then waited while Chris our server cleaned and we now had a shaded table. BTW we say multiple couples walk away from the table. Also, to others seating before 7:40 pm when the sun goes down, the servers have a device to adjust the tables under an umbrella. You have to ask. Now calmer, we ordered after Chris took a picture, mex shrimp and sausage flatbread. Both were excellent especially the shrimp which had lots of avocado. For main course my wife had the Maui shrimp and I had the grouper. My grouper was delicious with the special mashed potatoes and my wife enjoyed the shrimp, although she didn’t know they were fried. So I ate some of her shrimp and she enjoyed my grouper. We had 2 glass of Moscato and at the end of the meal Chris presented us with 2 glasses of Champagne complements of Cooper’s Hawk, which was a nice touch. Chris was a great server and those helping him with food were awesome. So what could have been a very unpleasant evening turned out to be very nice because we took the initiative to stake out a table (which the hostess could have done in the first place. Good mask guidelines were followed (we generally clean our cutlery and ask for paper napkins). If you have to use the restroom, remember to wear masks When you exit the restaurant, you can do directly down the stairs outside so do not have to exit through the front.More

Stumbled on this restaurant while on a business trip to Ashburn. The food was very good and it wasn't busy so an easy in and out. We both had salads. Mine the steak and blue cheese which has plenty of steak and blue cheese with...the steak done as I asked. My companion said her salad also was good. There was a bit too much of a push to join their wine club. Had I lived closer might have given it some consideration, but they finally understood I wasn't interested. We had a glass of wine for lunch and it was very drinkable.More

The restaurant is trying to cater to every taste, and to look like a winery at the same time, and is not doing a good job at either. For a restaurant at its price range, its wine selection is good, but it is underwhelming and...uninspired for a winery. It tries to cater to every taste, but the waiter was hard-pressed to come up with a signature entree, rather pointing to nearly half the menu... Picking one of them, the food was well prepared, but not impressive either. Service is attentive and prompt.More

Cooper’s has a busy wine tasting bar — even on Sunday evening it was full! Wines are all from their winery in Illinois, made from grapes from all over the US and world. We had the “barrel wine” - one that is maturing to be...bottled once a year. All wines on the menu are from their winery. The Malbec I had was okay, not great, but certainly acceptable; also tried the barrel wine (a red blend) which definitely needed more time in the barrel. Food was well presented and good; service was wonderful and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. Great scene for young professionals!More

Great food, wine, and overall experience. The servers are totally on the their game and the reservation system worked flawlessly. You can tell management has high standards for the folks who work there. Would not hesitate to go there again. Definitely the place to take...someone for a special occasion.More

Eh. It's open concept with little carpet, so it can get loud. The kitchen is pretty loud as well if you're sat on that end. (Don't.)
