This place was really good. I enjoyed everything and I went several times while on a two week business trip. If there was one thing to recommend I would say the CRAB CAKES!!!!! These things were amazing. They also have very good drinks but the place is a little pricey. I would suggest going during happy hour if possible.

What is this place? Food, Books, workspace, community, poetry, theatre........ Went for breakfast while staying around the corner in a hotel. Great am drink menu - coffee, chai latte, juice & tea were on point. Breakfast sammies & omelet were great. Standouts included vegan sausage & grits. Lots of options GF, Vegetarian & Vegan - plus items for Carnivores.

Went on a Friday night without a reservation. About 20 minutes wait. Browsed and bought a book. Great food choices. Had the salmon and grits. Daughter had shrimp and Basil grits cake. All delicious.

A friend and I came here a few days ago and just had the coffee. We had eaten lunch already at Beckett's Pub. The coffee was mediocre but the service was excellent. The food here must have gotten better than when I last ate here because there were a lot of customers here. The restaurant is also much larger than... More

We had a lovely Saturday brunch while staying in Shirlington for our anniversary. We both ordered an eggs Benedict (crab for my hubby and I had spinach). Delicious! My caramel macchiato was the best I've had, small but so yummy! Great atmosphere and variety to the brunch menu. We will definitely return.

Busboys and Poets has been a favorite when I have been in Northern Virginia on business and personal travel. This past weekend we held a memorial service for the passing of my 96 year mother. The event brought family in from out of town. 14 out-of-towners including 5 great-grandchildren wanted to dine together. While reservations are not accepted; they gave... More

We must have timed our visit just right because we were seated right away. A bit later, we could see that it had gotten quite crowded and busy. For brunch we ordered the Florentine Benedict and the French toast. The Benedict consisted of two poached eggs over spinach on top of an English muffin with just enough hollandaise sauce. The... I stopped here for lunch and while the service was good, the food was fair to average. My $12 salad was really inadequate with a few chunks of falafel, squash and seeds. I left hungry and disappointed. With all the choices in Shirlington, I'm not likely to return.

While we had been here before, I remember the food and service being better. The chai latte my husband ordered was cold. The second one was cold as well. They made it right but it should not have been luke warm! My daughter in laws soy latte, chocolate mint - but I cannot remember the name - was not warm... More

Wow. There are no Busboys and Poets near where I'm from, but I wish there were. The staff was efficient, and the food fantastic! We didn't have to wait long to be seated, and soon after, our waitress took our order. The food was served fast and fresh, and was great! The only negative was mushrooms in a "western" omelette....
