Mele describes itself as a Mediterranean restaurant, but the offerings are largely Italian. The menu is extensive. What I especially liked is that there are options of appetizers, smaller and larger plates as well as sides, so you can basically choose your own adventure. I...had a small plate- squid ink ravioli with smoked scallops and shrimp. This was served in a lovely cream sauce-- just delicious! And the small plate was plenty of food. My dining companion had a larger plate of veal piccata served with vegetables and mashed potatoes. We shared a kalamata salad. The service was attentive, the ambiance comfortable and warm. Food was very good, really nothing to complain about. Portions are on the small size but it worked for me. Desert was also very good. Service was a bit slow, and the waiter playing the guitar and singing while an opera is playing didn’t really...work for me.More

What a gem! Wasn’t that grand on going to it because I’m not a big Italian restaurant fan, but holy cow, what a surprise! Great atmosphere, great staff, great food. I had a bistro salad and a small plate of monkfish and it was wonderful....My son had the calf liver medium rare and it melted in your mouth. My husband had the linguine with bolognese and said it would make great spaghetti tacos because he loved the spicy flavor. And the fresh bread, oh my! Tiramisus for dessert made me want to lick the plate. So happy to have found this wonderful place. Next time we come to visit, it will be our first choice for dinner.More

This is an exceptional restaurant. The owner is on site and has hand crafted many of the furniture items inside. The food is superb, with fresh fish being flown in from Hawaii. Presentation is way above average, and the cocktails are served ample and cold....Service may be inside or outside.More

Our food was great but it took well over 20 minutes to be able to even place our order and another hour to receive our food. Made for a disappointing experience. For the money, I would expect much better.

Our family had a lovely evening and delicious meals at Mele! Not having seen one another for 14+ months, one would think that we would would have lots to talk about. We did! However, our meals were so delicious that soon we were comparing notes...and making plans for our next visit. The staff is excellent, the food is delicious and our party of 8 was comfortable. I booked this restaurant for my graduation dinner two weekends ago, and Frank (the manager, owner?) was so fantastic!! From the first phone call to our wave goodbye, I was so pleased with how he runs everything, and how smoothly everything was. He was so...helpful in confirming and making sure the reservation was okay. I kept changing the number of people and time and he was so convenient with us!! I was so impressed and excited to try because I read amazing reviews about the food. All 10 people at my party LOVED!! every bite!! I got the chicken parm and oh my gosh I wish I was hungrier when I was eating it because I didn't finish it and wish I did :( The pasta is so so so tasty and so well cooked. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. The drinks were fun and strong! Much love and great energy in this restaurant. Super pretty on the inside, too. Could not ask for a better restaurant to celebrate, and will DEFINITELY be coming back whenever I'm in the DMV area. Thank you Mele!!!More

The meal was delicious. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, our apps were very good and the bread was a great starter. We did get our water glasses filled often but that was the best part of the service. Our waitress was gone after taking our...order then after our entree's were finished we could not get anyone else to help us with dessert or drinks. Even getting our check took over 30 minutes yet the owner was socializing with everyone around us. I felt like I almost had to tackle someone to pay our bill.More

Mele had great food and an owner who really cared about each customer. The tortellini was fantastic! 5 stars
