The Name Liberty Tavern makes you think that its a sports bar... However, it is a sports bar with a good chef, we had a great meal! -- The décor is casual and most times you have to make reservations because the locals know its a hot spot... Must try

Simply put. Upstairs vs Downstairs. Both have their merits. Downstairs is usually packed with the younger professional type. Merriment abound. Noise level a bit much for my taste. Seems like a happening place with a nice bar, but just not my style. Upstairs is delightfully calm, cozy and has a more seasoned crowd. The menu and wines have seasonal additions,... More

I like the feel of this place for a date night out. The lower floor is primarily a bar and the upper floor has larger tables for meals. Both are very nice and pleasant. Where this place loses points is prices. They're not cheap and portions aren't so large to warrant them in some cases

This is my go to spot for brunch, happy hour etc. I had 2 friends in town who wanted something local and unique, so we came here after their plane landed. After wandering in 10 minutes before lunch closed, they sat us upstairs and were amazingly hospitable as we shared wine, appetizers and light lunch. This place can be great... More

Surprised to see some the harsh critics on this DMV gem, but everybody has different experiences I suppose. The Liberty Tavern is undoubtedly a top restaurant in Nova. Yes, the menu is somewhat minimal. But the execution is really good, leading to great food. We are not talking Michelin star menu stuff here, I get it, but the wings, pizza... More

Came with a party of about 30. Service was terribly slow. Food came out of Kitchen cold for most of us. No wine by the bottle. Very Noisy. I would like to try this place as a regular customer as food coming out of the Kitchen did look really good.

We had lunch and I was a little late, but they ordered onion rings which looked nice and light and crisp. I ordered the lamb burger, rare, and it was just right! We kept getting our ice teas filled up and the food and service was wonderful. I'm going back.

Very good food and service, and good value (Clarendon is NOT a low-price dining area!). Business lunch with just entrees and soft drinks. I had the tuna burger--very tasty with a just spicy enough slaw. My colleague had the burger; it looked very good and he enjoyed it. I had fries with mine--nothing special. He had a side salad--looked very... More

Liberty Tavern is a great neighborhood pub that also serves a fantastic menu. Whether you are stopping in for a pint, a casual brunch, or meeting friends for dinner, Liberty Tavern does not disappoint. Looking for a solid lunch? Grab a burger and a pint. Looking for a nice spot for dinner? Head upstairs and try out the flat iron... More

This was my first time visiting the LIberty Tavern, though I'm a frequent visitor to D.C., and Arlington. Glad I went there, cause the Saturday Brunch Buffet was everything everyone said it was... "Excellent"!!! The price per person was well worth the quality and quantity of food! Though it's located upstairs, with an elevator for those with difficulty, the food... More
