The appetizer (Bruschetta) was excellent, but the pizza that we ordered was not very good. It was called Diavala, was thin crusted and very spicy. I lived in Italy and traveled extensively and never encountered a Pizza that was this spicy and tasted like this one. Do not order unless you like Tex-Mex food!

Cafe Pizzaiolo is a wonderful restaurant located in Shirlington. I went with three friends and thoroughly enjoyed the food. Each of us ordered something different, but the serving sizes were so generous that we shared. I can personally attest to the goodness of at least four Italian dishes on the menu: pepperoni pizza, eggplant parmesan, chicken parmesan, and chicken marsala.... More

My wife and I have eaten at the Arlington location twice for lunch and been very impressed. First time my wife had a panini, which she enjoyed and I had a spectacularly good calzone, the "Market" withe prosciutto, pepperoni, ham, salami and ricotta cheese. It was huge and accompanied by a very simple, fresh marinara sauce. We shared a fried... More

Just shared a pizza from there with my daughter and it was exactly how I like it, straight from New York. Yum

Italian food? Not! This restaurant is absolutely awful. The only thing that is fit for human consumption there is the pizza. Do not go there if you want to eat anything else. You are guaranteed acid burns and a trip to the medicine cabinet. As for the wine? It is even worse!

I had two hours to kill before meeting friends for dinner nearby, so I stopped by at an outdoor table at Cafe Pizza I old for a draft beer and an order of calimari. Both were excellent and the waiter was enthusiastic and watchful. An excellent place to bide my time on a beautiful spring afternoon.

After a long weekend in the area, I knew we would be heading out for spaghetti. Not finding a lot of Italian cuisine within walking distance of our hotel, plus add a slight rain, Cafe Pizzaiolo was an obvious choise. The decor was trendy. Considering myself an old timing man and my father even older, we really seemed out of... More

My fianceé and I went on a rainy night and were a little down — not only was the pizza and calamari fantastic, the wine and beer list was great! Get there for happy hour prices before 7. Our waiter really seemed to love his job and the front of the house staff was fanastic. HIGHLY recommend!

Arrived after 9PM to a relatively empty and quiet cafe (the one on Fern St) for a late evening husband and wife dinner. Soon after the food and wine arrived so did the girl's soccer team from the local high school. To loud applause they were seated around us. Obviously they were expected, but we were not warned. The noise... More

This is a sub par restaurant pretending to serve authentic Italian food. The portions are tiny for the price and the food isn't even good. We got take out calzones that we paid 12.00 for....they were the size of my fist. The staff acted as though they had never put a takeout order together in their lives, not enough containers,...
