To start, I'm a white Irish guy who passed up the Irish bar and restaurant across the street to go here. The Tiger Crunch roll is amazing. The unagi maki (eel) was delicious. My wife and I also split the sushi combo dinner and every single piece of fish was as fresh as I've seen. They're selection of sake may... More

We went here for dinner not realizing that it had changed management. It used to be Matuba, a very nice Japanese restaurant. We were very disappointed in the changes. The food was okay, nothing special. I had veggie sushi which was fine. My husband had grilled eel which he said was all right but not nearly as good as it... More

Arlington (and Seven Corners) has quite a number of Vietnamese and Thai restaurants but not as many Japanese... And most of those are heavily Americanized and generally banal. Maruko (between the Drafthouse and Thai 54) is surprisingly good. The interior decor is nothing to write home about, and the quality of the food can be inconsistent, but Maruko gets more... More

We enjoyed wonderful sashimi and sushi combos for lunch. The fish was obviously fresh and so tasty. Prices were normal for sushi and we thought it was well worth it for the quality.

One of my go to places for sushi. Consistently very good quality fish, well prepared and served, and reasonably priced. Complimentary salad bar a big plus. Changes in ownership over the past couple of years have not significantly affected operations.

During a recent visit to the area, I had the good fortune of discovering Maruko. What a treat! We sat at the bar and ordered chirashi sushi with an extra request for kanpyo (seasoned dried gourd strips) The smiling chef complied with a bowl of perfectly seasoned rice topped with succulent fresh sashimi.
