This restaurant is very friendly and food is excellent. All kavior appetizers are exceptionally good. And the main dish, the salmon was also good. Wines are not the best.

Flavorful dishes, but this is not light eating. Street parking is available, but not plentiful. In the Ballston neighborhood near Central Library, so taking Metro is an option.

I took a friend to Rus-Uz so she could try something new. The restaurant did not disappoint. We were there early on Sunday afternoon so it was quiet. We could easily carry on a conversation. Servers were pleasant and the service was good. The food was well prepared and tasty. This is a nice change of pace.

Plov is a national dish of Uzbekistan and I recommend it-lamb bits on flavorful rice; also had Fish Under Cover, a cold salad of herring, beets, potatoes, an acquired taste but I enjoyed it. This is a quiet restaurant, excellent service. Would go back for the great looking desserts and coffee, too. Nice downtown Arlington neighborhood.

Pretty good food & service. We also sampled six of their flavors vodkas, which were nice. Beware, their desserts are mediocre, and really not worth it.

Small, but cozy central asian/russian cuisine joint. Service is pretty attentive and quick. They seem to have almost everything in the menu available (a rarity in places of this origin). Extended selection of infused vodkas is a must to try. Overall, I like this place the best out of 3 or 4 similar places of post-Soviet republic cuisine in the... More

I took my team to Rus-Uz for lunch to introduce them to Russian and Central Asian cuisines. The food was delicious and prepared in a traditional manner, which was just what I wanted. I had roasted salmon with potatoes and veggies and it was very flavorful and well-made. I tried plov and it was just as I remember my Grandma's... More

Our daughter told us about Rus-Uz last week; it sounded great, so we had to try it out. The restaurant is spotless -- crisp white table cloths with beautiful blue dishes. The service was perfect. We were seated immediately, and then we were a little overwhelmed with all the choices on the menu. Happily, our waiter advised us. We began... More

Despite the difficulty of parking in the Ballston Metro area, now there is a further reason to make the effort or walk from the subway since Rus-Uz has expanded next door to itself with a store. The store is mostly reasonably priced and has a lot of the Russian foods normally seen in Russian stores, a rather large wine department... More
