I've been to Russia 3 times and dined here with two people who have traveled there extensively over many years. We went in not expecting much given how empty the place is every time I walk past. We all agreed that the food was very...good and not Americanized versions of the real thing. We ordered the Chicken Kiev, the meet dumplings, and the potato dumpling. Oh, and the honey cake! Happy with all. The vodka shots are icy cold but the bottle of white wine was served way at room temp. Whoops! I'll be back for sure.More

The whole experience was wonderful. My husband and I shared so we could try more options. We loved everything. The servers were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.

Been to this place a couple of times. My family really likes the food here so we end up here at least once every time they're in town. The food is tasty. Dumplings and the stuffed cabbage are a must. They are well seasoned. I...recently had the salmon and was very happy with it. Perfectly cooked. The honey cake is delicious (honey cake is a laborious endeavor and they do a good job at it). If you like Eastern European food, you will like this place. The staff are really nice (I feel like they must recognize us by now), even though we routinely stay until closing when we come for dinner.More

They made a mistake on catering my order which resulted in me paying more than double of what I wanted and did not confirm the price. Instead of about $150, my bill came to $330 and no solution was offered. Poor communication, poor customer service....This place used to feel like a family owned restaurant and has changed management and staff continuously over the years. I will not be returning.More

A location in Arlington and Alexandria, Virginia. Delicious Russian Blinis! I ate at the Arlington location a while ago and returned today. The food is just great! Plenty of street parking. Try something new or old - you'd be glad you stopped by! Priyanka appetita!!!...Bon appétit!! Enjoy! 😉More

We planned to be in town on Valentines Day and made a reservation in advance. They had a special pre fixe menu with many options at a very reasonable price which included dessert and a bottle of wine. We had Meat Pirozhki and Samsa to...start with main courses of Plov and Lamb Chops. I don't remember the desserts but we were stuffed when we left. The total with tip camr to $130. Service by Ismoil R was efficient des[ite the crowd. An excellent value for a new food experience.More

Great food in a convenient area of town. Very nice atmosphere with good seating and great service. I recommend the Borscht and a pot of Black Tea. Be sure to check out their market next door too.

This is my fourth time at this restaurant, after many years. It was always a luxury to go because the food is heavy and I don’t always feel like I want to feel stuffed. However, it is such a nice place, with great atmosphere. The...service is professional and attentive and the food so nicely prepared. They know what they are doing. I couldn’t eat the entire chicken Kiev that I ordered, but was glad to bring it home. It is a delightful place to go to feel you are transported to another country and another time. Going here is a real treat and great for special occasions. You will leave satisfied.More

The three of us shared the following dishes: Fish under Coat (appetizer of herring, potatoes, eggs etc), Plov (lamb on rice pilaf) and Goluptsi (cabbage leaves stuffed with ground beef and rice). Not the refined food of a French restaurant but a fully satisfying, hearty...meal served at the right temperature. Service was attentive. The wine list was broader than expected. Suggestion: some Uzbek touches , such as Uzbez music in the background or even someone dressed in Uzbek costume would make the restaurant more interesting.More

Today was my first experience eating Russian/Uzbek food. I was pleasantly surprised and look forward to discovering new gastronomic preferences. I ordered three appetizers: a potatoe pie (don’t recall the name) and a pie filled with lamb chunks, and a borscht soup. The potatoe pie...was “meh” in my opinion because it didn’t have much taste. I felt like I was eating unnecessary carbs. The pie filled with lamb chunks was delicious because the lamb was hot and well seasoned and the pie crust had a nice texture that was neither hard or soft. The borscht soup was a surprise hit. I use the word “surprise” because on the surface beets, cabbage, potatoes, beef, and sour cream don’t seem like a great combination. However, this soup was delicious! It was hearty, well seasoned, no one ingredient overpowered the soup. Overall, this soup was well balanced. I didn’t leave one drop in the bowl. I’ll definitely return for another bowl. My husband and I ordered manti and leg of lamb as the entree. I didn’t enjoy the manti because it was a boring dish. It was simply a light dumpling filled with chunks of meat and covered in a brown sauce and sour cream. The leg of lamb had a lamb taste and it was mildly seasoned. It came with potatoe wedges and vegetables. Overall this meal was good and very filling. I would not recommend the manti to anyone who likes complex meals. Also, I ordered a refreshing drink called Compot. This beverage is made of berries, apples, and peaches. I’ll definitely order that again. I recommend this restaurant. If environmentally friendly packaging is important to you, then you might not like the restaurant’s take away containers because they are made of foam.More

All of us had a wonderful time. Waitstaff walked us through ordering Russian and Uzbek traditional meals. All were quite good. Large portions. Try the Blini and Pirozhki appetizers. Be sure and try the Medovic cake. Moderately priced. This place was a great choice for...ethnic food. Will return when in town.More

After a long day walking the mall Rus-Ur was close to the hotel, and turned out to be a great choice. The Blini and Samsa were a delicious start. So nice to see so many lamb selections on the menu. The Plov , lamb on...top of a good pilaf, was a treat. The salmon was good, overdone, but the veggies were very good. The pomegranate sauce was wonderful. The black beer was very good. Great Russian food introduction.More

Really great food enjoyed by the whole table. I don’t think you can go wrong with any dish. Everything was very flavorful and the house infused vodkas were nice! Great cocktail prices, too!

Our dining experience in Rus-Uz was pretty decent. The restaurant offers authentically Russian and Uzbek cuisine. The beetroot - herring salad traditionally called" Seld' pod shuboi" leaves much to be desired. All the rest we tried was music to taste buds! Staff was attentive and...friendly. The Medovik dessert was the highlight of the meal.More

No dress code that I noted. But it was cool that night and no one was in shorts and flip flops. Best to check directly with the restaurant.
