If craving for a fast casual seafood place then this is the best place. The quality is great. The fish sandwich is my favorite.

This is in the food court at ballston quarter. I had the lobster taquitos that were amazing and very reasonably priced. Will be back to try more items,
Anyone who has traveled to a Commonwealth country like New Zealand or the UK will know that it's hard to get proper fish and chips in the States. Even at fancy restaurants: the over-breaded, over-fried, dark brown monstrosity I got at Legal Seafood was an...abomination. Kentucky Fried Fish. Absolute garbage. A few Irish pubs in DC come close to getting it right. When I walked into this place I wasn't even expecting anything special at all. I just said, what the hell, I'll order the fish and chips. It will probably be awful but hope springs eternal. I was shocked with what I got. Best fish and chips I've had in the US of A! A light golden colored and extremely crispy batter, snapping almost like a potato chip...clean oil flavor, (which is practically no flavor) with nice big chunks of delicious fish. The french fries aren't the right size for "chips", but at least they were properly fried too, and not burnt and married by the rancid flavor of organic peroxides as is so often the case in US restaurants. So check out this undiscovered gem! I now usually get the salad instead of the fries. Gotta watch the waistline. It's a really nice little salad. The service is extremely friendly btw.More
I am a Calabash, N.C. "The Seafood Capital of the World" regular patron. Slapfish isn't Calabash. My first visit. The lady that helped us "T", was friendly and helpful, very customer focused. Good sales lady. We ordered all the items on the slappy hour menu....I may butcher the names and/or items; Lobster taquitos great. Fish taco is grilled fish, lots of cabbage and sauce. Interesting sauces on everything. The chowder was definitely my favorite. Wow. Why not 5 stars? I personally wasn't a fan of the fried pickle spears, or the salsa (chips and salsa), and I've never seen or heard of any of their soft drink machine selection. I tasted them all and didn't like any. Overall the entire dinner was surprising with lots of new flavors and taste. If they tweek this and that, and add a Pepsi machine, I'll buy stock when available.More
Let me start by saying that the food we had - a street taco and fish and chips - were pretty good quality. But that's where my praise for this upscale (although not very) fast food place ends. The mall venue is a bit gloomy...and the employee who took our order at the counter was foul. She never smiled, never said please or thank you, and in the middle of taking our order, she abruptly walked away without a word to talk to her colleague. When she returned to complete our order two minutes later she said not a word - no apology for ignoring us in the middle of an order, nothing. We asked the price of a lobster roll (not posted, like other items, on the menu board) - $27. For context, a lobster roll with french fries at Coastal Flats at Tyson's Corner, a pleasant full service restaurant with nice ambiance and excellent service, was $23 a couple of weeks ago. I'm usually okay with paying a little more if the place is nice and the service is good. With the fresh fish this places serves, it has potential but its service is lousy and it really doesn't warrant such high prices.More
Slapfish was located on the entry floor of the building along with a number of other restaurants. There is one or two in my hometown but I hadn't yet tried it out. Anyway, the menu has starters, soups, salads, fish of the day platter, lobster...rolls, etc. I opted for the shrimp burrito to go. While waiting I looked around the restaurant and noticed there were booths as well as tables. This slapfish sort of has one entrance, I guess as a way to direct traffic so everyone knows where to queue. I got the food and took it upstairs to eat. The shrimp burrito had an ample portion of shrimp, include rice and a somewhat spicy, tasty sauce. The burrito was more than enough for me and I didn't eat it all. I ate the rest of it later. I liked the taste enough that I believe I'll visit Slapfish when I get back home and try some of the other menu options. I thought the it was a bit pricey for a lunch meal but, hey, it is the Ballston area of Arlington. I believe most people will be able to find something they like.More
Not bad for a fast food type of a place, few seafood options, the staff were friendly, the food was okay
I was very excited for the chowder fries. They come with bacon bits. The ultimate fish taco was indeed large. The fried fish was crispy on the outside and flaky inside. It was difficult to eat as a taco. Good service. Small seating area. It’s...designed for take out more than dine in. They serve beer!More
