My new “go to” for Chinese takeout. Immediately reassured by the majority native Chinese-speaking clientele (who definitely know more about good authentic Cantonese than I do) as well as the mouthwatering roast duck/pork hanging in the counter window. The food does not disappoint. Crispy spicy...pork chops are tremendous, as is the crispy spicy squid (my teen kids thought it was the best “calamari”). Lobster with ginger and scallion delicious as well. Ma po tofu with pork very good, though could do without the peas and carrots in it. Previously, I’ve really enjoyed the roast duck/pork/pig ... the trio combo over rice is a great lunch. Menu is large and varied - looking forward to exploring more .... will be back soon!More

We live in DC and when necessary go to Seven Corners for Home Depot and other stores so we infrequently dine at XO Taste. Out last visit was maybe six months to a year ago. I am happy to report that the restaurant is as...good as it has ever been. The place is spacious, clean, comfortable and conducive to pleasant dining. Contrast this to the nearby Mark's Duck House which has good food but is dingy, cramped and noisy. The three dishes we ordered were so visually attractive that a photograph was considered and in fact the table behind did just that. The food was fresh, plentiful and thoroughly enjoyable. Our seafood chow foon had excellent shrimp, squid, scallops and sea cucumber which I normally don't like but this time found delicious. We had enough leftover to make a full meal later that week at home. The servers were knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient. The menu is huge and in addition to many familiar dishes has some you normally don't see in a Chinese/Vietnamese restaurant, e.g., frog, which as I recall is served three or four different ways. In the future we will visit more often. I honestly can't remember the last time we ate out and literally could not find a single element of the experience that could not have been improved.More

Last year had a wonderful meal here and thought we had a real "find." Returned this past week and were not at all happy with what we found. One of us ordered a shrimp dish billed as spicy that arrived bland and greasy. I ordered...a similar dish with more veggies, requested extra ginger and spicy. It arrived with no ginger and almost tasteless, also greasy.I sent it back, which I almost never do, and it returned somewhat improved, at least edible. Neither one was as good as typical takeout, though it cost a lot more. Preparation was poor, it must have been a different chef this time. The restaurant was very clean, ingredients seemed fresh and of adequate quality, and service was friendly but not accurate. Too bad.More

We ordered takeout in preparation for hosting a belated Chinese New Year's dinner with friends in a week. The food is spectacular! Great spring rolls and fried dumplings; excellent barbeque; amazing fried pork chops and roat duck. The corn and shredded chicken soup is out...of this world. This is a very good restaurant. Make sure you get a menu from them when you go if you want takeout because it is much more expansive than the online version. We are really looking forward to our coming dinner! Highest recommendation!More

XO is a favorite for us. Excellent Combo fried rice, roast duck and dumpling soup with noodles and pan fried combo noodlle dish. I tried their tofu in black bean sauce for the first time and although the sauce was excellent, the tofu just wasn't...as tasty as other places I frequent. XO will remain a favorite for the dishes mentioned above.More

I have worked my way through quite a few dishes and all were either good or very good. The Beef Chow Fun with XO Sauce is a treat. XO Sauce is made from dried shrimp and scallops plus a ton of flavor so it really...adds to the noodles and beef. The Shrimp Wonton soup is really good as well. It comes with 8 medium sized dumplings that are completely delicious. You can also get it with half the dumplings plus noodles, which is nice as well. There are several versions of congee and all are great on a cold day. I had mine with squid and pig skin and it was really good. The servers I have met there are friendly and willing to help me explore the menu. All in all, they have a very wide ranging menu and well prepared dishes.More

We hadn't been here for years. No reason, just fell out of our view. The night we came, the place was nearly empty. It's a big space with a lot of tables. The food was still good, if perhaps a bit lacking in presentation. A...BBQ dish, for example, was just slices of pork and chicken on a plate. But it was tasty enough, and that's what counts. Service was good, which is often NOT the case in an empty restaurant. The price was perfectly reasonable. We will try to remember to return here more often.More

My son and I chose the restaurant for a great selection of non-meat dishes. We were encouraged to see that most of the restaurant was filled with giant tables seating Asian families who clearly loved the place. The extensive menu was organized by type of...preparation, rather than clustering all meats, seafoods, etc., so there was a lot to peruse! I finally ordered squid with vegetables, requesting extra ginger (they obliged with a generous helping), and my son had a much spicier shrimp dish. We were impressed that the use of oil was "as light as possible," with very little for my meal and just enough to serve as a good carrier for the hot spices for the shrimp. Portions were generous, food was fresh and top quality, the restaurant was very clean, and service was quick and accurate. I do wish they had offered brown rice, though my guess is their clientele prefers the authentic white kind. Vegetarian warning: at the front, there were skewered meats on rotisseries, one recognizably a small pig. However, the restaurant was well ventilated and did not smell of meat or smoke, so it was not really off-putting unless you really don't want to be near meat. The restaurant is in a large shopping mall with a supermarket and a Target, so it is convenient as well as a great destination on its own. We are looking forward to our next meal there!More

The restaurant is tucked away in a middle of a housing estate, and a little hard to spot from the main road. It was a worthy find though. The owners of XO Taste hail from Hong Kong, so the menu selection is mostly pretty authentic...Cantonese. After having mostly western food throughout our trip, this was a wonderful find. The roasted meats (BBQ pork, pork belly and duck) are really tender and tasty while the stir fry dishes (both noodles, rice and even veggies!) were pretty good and similar to eating it Hong Kong. The serving portions though, are a little huge, so do think twice before ordering a large variety of dishes.More

I visited X.O. Taste with a group of coworkers. We ordered several large plates ranging from Abalone, to roasted chicken. The tofu & seafood soup was served as an appetizer and was pretty good. Plates were served in a timely manner and service was top...notch. We even brought our own wine and they had no issues with that. Finding the place was bit difficult as the address in google maps wasn't granular enough, so I had to drive around to find it. parking is ample and well located so finding a spot wasn't an issue. I highly recommend this place, specially if you have a good Chinese friend to order for you, which is what I did.More
