First thing to know is the backside of the restaurant opens onto the Ellipse, a garden-like patio with trees in the mid c le of the block that can be accessed from 3 streets. On a cool day, even in the low 80s, it's a lively, and lively, place for lunch. We had noon reservations and the patio was full... More

I found it hard to believe that when substituting a cheaper item (chicken) for a more expensive one (tuna) that I incurred an additional $2 charge -- really??! Would I return? I will resist.

We had the best time having dinner outside on the patio overlooking the fountain. Service was amazing. You can get items off the happy hour menu even if you are eating at a table outside. What a deal! The mussels and charcuterie are super good. The scallops were outstanding and the halibut was perfect. We had a bottle of wine... More

Decent place for a large group dinner. Food is also good, not a top notch, but acceptable. Halibut main dish was ok, pretty plane, served on green beans and other vegurables. Apetizers are the best. Actually, if selected properly, apetizers can be the main dosh. Nice bar wirh a good selection of wines. Service was very good, but it was... More

I hesitate reviewing this place because its seemingly off the critic and media radar in Arlington. However I do want to see its continued success. There are very few gourmet French-style options between DC and Fairfax County so Grand Cru is a rare find in Arlington. The quality of food, and the cost/value of the dishes is unmatched in not... This was exactly what we were looking for on a lovely evening with nice weather. Loved the outdoor ambiance with the sound of water at the fountain and lights on the trees. Our server, Said, could not have made us feel more welcome and comfortable as if we were having dinner at his home. Thank you Said!

Our waitress didn't show up for 15 minutes. Another staff member noticed and took our drink order. After a few more minutes our waitress showed up. The place was not very busy. We ended up with 3 different people serving us. The walls were covered with bottles of wine but the selection of glasses of wine was limited.

One example i'd like to share happend 3 weeks ago when i ordered a pork tenderloin, but i got instead a pork belly/ tuna surf and turf. The waiter asked me whether i'd like... More

I have been a regular at Grand Cru whenever I am in Arlington for business. I love sitting at the bar, having a small meal from the starter menu with a glass of wine. They have moved to a much larger space next to the old location and the ambiance is nicer with more room around tables. Our first waiter... More

Noise at Grand Cru is manageable and service pleasant and accommodating which makes for a great venue for business diners where conversations linger. The food is rich and varies and by having wine by the glass Grand Cru allows its guest to complement their meal with wine and still drive safely afterward.
