Typical oriental buffet restaurant with a very large selection, Sushi is not spectacular but then neither is the price, Good selection of meats, fish, fruit, soup and desert. It seems that they have something for every taste at a reasonable price.
We have been waiting for this place to open for a while. Are we glad! Had dinner here with the wife and we were very happy with the place and food. This used to be a Hometown Buffet and it sucked. No other way to...put it. We were very happy when we saw this would be an Asian place.
The buffet was incredible. I purposely ate light all day to save up for this dinner. We were not disappointed! There are six steam tables and four chilled tables. There is also a fresh made sushi table and a hibachi area where they make your food fresh. We tried everything but the hibachi as I just couldn't eat another bite!
The food was wonderful and diverse. There were six or seven types of shrimp, there were steamed crab, duck, oysters on the half shell, fried wings, tons of Asian favorites and pizza for the kids. The sushi was good! Deserts were plentiful and tasty. This place scores a 10 in my book. Price and service were excellent as well. $32.00 for two.
WE WILL BE BACK!!! Cheers!More
I not sure why the other reviewers are saying how bad the meat is, i think the meat is fine, but i ordered chicken and shrimp. The design of the place is clean and neat, but most of all i love the yum yum sauce there.
BLUF: Steer clear. Quickfire Hibachi & Sushi wasn't listed on Trip Advisor yet, and I think I know why. I added the restaurant to Tripadvisor. There's an old saying that if you don't have anything good to say, don't say it at all. Well, I...don't have anything good to say about Quickfire but that doesn't mean I won't say it anyway. Maybe you can save yourself the disappointment (and maybe some indigestion). The establishment looks clean upon quick glance, so none of my usual red flags popped up. I ordered the Hibachi Beef combo, which included two sides (I chose fried rice and salad). They cook the meat on a grill right in front of you, but the sides are pre-cooked. That's not that uncommon for a fast-food style Hibachi grill. What was uncommon was the strange looking meat they just referred to as beef. Clearly, this wasn't a small rib eye or other reputable cut. This so-called beef they lapped on the grill looked like scrap beef. Still willing to give it a shot, I thought the meat would still be tender and possible tasty since they grilled it to order. That's when red flag #2 came in: They took a ladle and drowned the meat in some type of soy sauce-gravy. Soy sauce and some spices are okay, but when you start slathering a bucketful of grog on meat, you're probably illustrating how bad the meat is by itself. Despite my reservations, I tried the meat only because I was willing to give it a shot. Heck, maybe they had an awesome sauce that complemented the beef. Was it awesome? No, not hardly. It certainly wasn't the quality fast-food Hibachi I know and love. It was more like a cheap import. The rice was bland, and the salad was on par with a bagged salad from Food Lion. For a couple days after, I had some indigestion (which I rarely have). And hey, I've ate food in third world countries and only got sick once. As another negative bonus, a quick Google search yielded 13 inspection violations by the Virginia Dept of Health (at a nearby Centreville location). I suspect the Alexandria Quickfire location has problems of its own. One thing they won't have to every worry about is me visiting again. Typically, I'll visit a restaurant twice if the first time wasn't so great just to give them a fair chance. Not with Quickfire.More
