I made a reservation for 6 this past weekend not knowing for sure the circumstances in these trying days. They were delighted with the business and went out of their way to provide the best service I have seen in a while. We each ordered...the all you can buffet which includes an omelet and waffle bar. They keep everything clean by requesting diners to wear masks at the buffet and they serve items onto your plate at your request. The food was delicious and plentiful. Very nice to also be able to get Bloody Mary's and Mimosas. We were very impressed with the family run restaurant and will definitely return in the future.More

Stopped in after a long day in DC. Nice setting and friendly. The roast turkey dinner and steak were perfectly cooked and presented. Side salad very fresh. Good price. Danny was super.

Prepare yourself for a walk back in time once you enter the Royal Restaurant. It’s an amazing classic American Diner with the food and service to match. This will be our new go to joint when we bring out of town guests for a morning...stroll in Olde Towne Alexandria.More

My son just turned 40ish and I wanted to surprise him. A three course meal from the Royal restaurant was perfect. I ordered some of his favorites and he even encouraged me to taste him lamb, lol. My son cooks and he prepares lamb very...well, The Royal really did superb with the lamb, excellent, our soup, appetizers and entree were all so perfectly prepared and packaged (salmon, lamb, appetizers of calamari, chicken tenders, shrimp, wings and of course we began with the lemon rice soup perfect for our health today). I felt this was a way to feed into a beautiful place which is still open during these trying times and I believed I would get the best meal for a very special occasion 🎉👏✨thank you Royal for a memorable occasion. 🥂❤️More

Royal Restaurant is a gem nestled in old town that everyone should give a try. The restaurant is full of antiquity, great food, and excellent service! The pancakes and omelettes are really something special as well!

We love going to different diners for breakfast and this one didn't disappoint. Service was quick and efficient, coffee was good and eggs cooked perfectly. Loved it so much we went back for Sunday brunch. Eggs cooked to order, fried chicken, gravy, biscuits, fruits, waffles...and coffee. Ample parking and easy to get to.More

Only complaint was that the coffee was lukewarm. Omelets and breakfast sandwiches were good. Atmosphere was pleasant. Convenient to Sheraton.

I was in town for work and the company I was seeing suggested that I try this place for lunch. The staff was very friendly and the food was really good. I had the flounder sandwich with fries and I asked for the fries to...be extra crispy and they got it right. Most places never get it right. This place reminder me of a classic diner and I would eat here all the time if I lived in town.More

Service (Lulu) was friendly and attentive. Salad bar was excellent---lots of fresh salad makings, dolmatas, cottage cheese, different dressings and incredibly reasonable @ $6! Added gyro to it and they brought 3 large pieces that were oh so good!!! The chicken and biscuit was OK...but would probably choose something else next time. Parking is convenient as they have their own lot adjacent to the restaurant. Would definitely return next time in the area.More
