Restaurant Eve has one intention: to bring everything together in perfect harmony-ingredients, cooking techniques, presentation, and that ephemeral, indescribable characteristic that we call soulfulness. We purchase from farms that share our values of quality and sustainability, and showcase the best hand-fed, farm-raised, organically grown bounty Virginia and the surrounding countryside have to offer. Herbs and fruits are gathered from our own garden and everything on our menu has a story, every ingredient is special. From the various offerings of house-made products (which include 7-9 various breads baked daily and artisanal cheeses); to the roster of craft cocktails, by cocktail authority Todd Thrasher; to our carefully chosen ingredients, everything signals a seriousness and reverence for the farmers, crafters, and all the culinary professionals who wish to bring you beautiful food. Restaurant Eve, named after the husband and wife duo's first child, is located in Old Town, Alexandria, listed by many travel sites as one of the most romantic towns in America, 10 minutes from Washington DC, Restaurant Eve is housed in a late 1800's historic warehouse that has been converted into a charming and sophisticated destination. The cobblestone path leading to the restaurant's entrance is lined with candles that set the tone of what is to come. Inside, the space is simultaneously stylish, cozy and refined-a place where special occasions are fondly remembered.

Restaurant Eve, frequently and understandably, is rated as the top restaurant in Old Town Alexandria, and a recent visit there underscores its reputation. The food is extremely flavorful, complex, and inventive, and the service is outstanding, yet the portions are somewhat small. If one is looking for a high-quality and not inexpensive dining experience, then Restaurant Eve is a great... More

You're in for a real culinary treat. Bring friends, the dont skimp on the portion size. The bread is some of the best I've ever tasted. I had the steak which was wonderful. Very pricey but so worth the experience.

We just moved to the area and received a recommendation for this restaurant for our Anniversary. The atmosphere is lovey, the service is wonderful, but the meal was really disappointing and the price ridiculous. We will not return.

I went for a holiday get-together with four girlfriends. We sat at a small table next to the bar and were served by a knowledgeable young man who not only recommended cocktails but also offered to fetch reading glasses (demographics?). What truly impressed me, however, was his outstanding discussion of the cheese tray we ordered. He knew each cheese and... More

I took my wife and a very good friend here for an early dinner before my friend had to catch a flight back to NYC. I really liked the ambience in this place as we walked down a "grotto" to the entrance. We arrive early and had drinks at the bar until our guest arrived. The bar is not large... More

I received my bill tonight from the waitress and it was an overcharge of more than $100. We brought it to the waitresses attention and received a corrected bill, No apology, and the waitress kept a sour face on while we lingered. We were all bothered since the restaurant is expensive, a regular haunt of ours, and so we asked... More

The restaurant comes highly rated. It is expensive and does not deliver for the money spent. Both the service and food were not better than average. For $100 a person we expected much more.

Years ago, Restaurant Eve was our dining destination. Let's face it, if you are spending at least $500 for your meal with wine you want the food and service to both stand out. The problems were pretty simple fixes, the water glasses were neglected, our daughter's cocktail was completely forgotten (we had to remind the staff), and oddly, the dessert... More

Tried one of their special lunch deals sausage sandwich, split a salad and a dessert, seems to me it was less than $20 per person. Ate in the bar and toured the dining room with it colonial two sided square fireplace in the center. Very cool atmosphere--very upscale--almost like being in Boston--that is, it felt a bit formal. Innovative menu... More
