Ordered here for take out, and the food was ready on time when arriving. I had the jambalaya, and it was very delicious with a slight kick. There was plenty on the plate and th pasta was cooked just right. I also had the bread...More
I arrived home late on night coming back from Las Vegas and I wanted some good Maryland/Virginia Seafood, so I stopped at RT's and the meal was delicious. The bartender provided excellent customer service and I will be back to try other delicious meals on...More
RT's is one of my faves. Their food is great. The service may be uneven, but the wait staff are usually quite good. My favorite is the "Death by Gumbo," which is authentic, subtle and not overly seasoned. However, I like everything I have had...More
I ordered two appetizers: Fried Oysters with Horseradish Cream which was delicious, and Jack Daniel's Shrimp with Lump Crabmeat which had a bland sauce and a small amount of crab. I've always had excellent seafood at RT's and this is the first time I was...More
I came here for lunch with a friend during Restaurant Week. I had a Restaurant Week special which included soup, salad, main dish, dessert, and coffee. The She Crab soup was to die for! The shrimp special was very good. The dessert was a choice...More
Last time I was here was probably more than 15 years ago, so when perusing the Alexandria Restaurant Week list and seeing RT’s, I figured it would be nice to try it again! This time I took 3 others who had never been here.
First time at RT’s and it was really good. Everything our party had was superb. Corn Maque Chaux, Gumbo appetizer, Skewered Shrimp and Andouille, and my favorite-“Death” by Gumbo! Amazing! Service was excellent! The Vieux Carre cocktail hit the spot. Definitely worth visiting!
It’s run down and it isn’t in a trendy neighborhood, but you will always find a friendly smile and down home cooking at a reasonable price. The menu has plenty of Cajun/a creole selections and local fresh seafood. The food prepared authentically and always good....More
The BEST cajun food outside of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and great cajun food. Big variety on the menu! I would love to try it all. I have not found any cajun food in Virginia or the East Coast...More
I have eaten Gumbo my entire life and cooked it for 40 years. I ordered the chicken and comeaux gumbo and it was much much too thick. There was no liquid. The taste was good but the thickness ruined the dish for me.
