Dropped by for lunch after visiting the attatched museum. I tried the Peanut Soup, because it was Washington's favorite. It was strange but not bad. Not really my cup of tea. Other than the soup I enjoyed all of the food and it was not at all expensive. It was very quaint and the decor was nice. The wait staff... More

We arrived around 7pm on a weekday. A party was in the blue room, and we were seated in the small dining room by the bar. We had to ask to be moved to the center of the room since it was very cold and drafty by the side door. The waiter behaved as if we were a burden; he... More

We are at Gadsby's on a whim, and we were not disappointed. The food was good, but our waiter was great. He took time to give us background on the tavern and surrounding area. Plus, the first 5 presidents ate there!

The food here is fine and reasonably priced. You can make reservations at OpenTable. We got some breakfast for just under $10 per person. This isn't private dining -- tables are close together and there are no booths. The point here is to be in the space where several US presidents have been. Eating here gets you a discount on... Tavern is next to a museum. Love the building and its history, but you may want to pass on the meal. While most of the food was solid but not spectacular, the service was very average. Pass on the steak.

This restaurant is very pretty. I liked the antique decor and the fact that the staff were wearing colonial costumes. However, the food was not as good as I expected. The French Onion soup was above average. However, the oysters I ordered were soggy and flavorless.

We liked the peanut soups and the walnut salad. However, the meal that supposedly George Washington loved is way too sweat, it was like eating sugar coated duck. The Gentleman's pie was good. Our waitress was a friendly lady. Even though the food isn't that great, I still recommend checking this place out.

Stopped in after seeing a sign for this restaurant. There is the added appeal of the ice cellar and other historical information. The food was wonderful. The staff was engaged and attentive. The atmosphere was charming. We sat in the courtyard area as it was a beautiful day. We will return. Looked like a nice place to hold an event.

Went to lunch. I got the crispy fish and my wife the crab cake. Both were good. Very quaint 18th century atmosphere. Definitely worth a look.
